Bute - Who is he fighting March 19th?

Magee. OMG. I suppose he will prepare Bute to face a southpaw...

Let's just hope he fights in June or July against stronger opposition.

 

Some people on a french forum has met Bute's coach. Kessler could be Bute's opponent...in June. He won't be ready for March.

 

S6 final & Bute-Kessler @ MSG in June. That'd be sweet.

Showtime would be nuts to give $2M to Bute for a Magee fight though.

 

I agree, but who else? Stieglitz and Sartison may not want to fight Bute, Kessler and Dirrell out... Do we really want to see Bute-Bika2 or Bute-Allan Green? For me, Green is as bad as Magee anyway.

 

I thought Stieglitz would accept a unification bout if the money was good... you know, the kind of money you'd want if you were 99% sure to lose your belt.

I think Green would decline the offer just as much as Stieg & Sartison would. "Have", in Stieglitz' case.

Magee is way past what you could call his best... wouldn't generate a whole lot of PPV buys, where as a unification fight would. Just hoping Showtime can trick Stieg into it.

 

sources from last summer said that Stieglitz refuse the highest money Bute's team ever offered.

Who should he be in the ring with him that either wants to right now or can right now ? You'll have no answer for that....

 

So what do the ignorant posters on here know about Brian Magee?

Never rated Magee myself but heres some notes for the ignorant.
Went 22 fights before being beaten by R Reid on points, going down several times but made the fight close.
Fought V Tsypko (who looked unlucky to many against J Lacy) away in Germany to a SD for the European title. Many thought he won but was robbed.
Gave C Froch a tough fight before losing in the 11th.
Beat highly rated M Larsen away in Denmark for the European title.
Beat Thysse who had a win over everyone he fought, who had beaten D Starie. After Magee beat Thysse, Thysse got a title shot. Thysse went on to lose to Beyer, Kessler, Braehmer, Bute, Diaconu and Bika. But only Magee and Kessler stopped Thysse. Magee in the 10th and Kessler in the 11th.
Magee has also beat Makambi and Cherifi, and Jimenez after Calzaghe defended against him.

I dont think Magee takes a shot well but is a better more worthy fighter than Joppy or Brinkley.

Bute wins

 

With Dirrell and Kessler out for march, Stieglitz refusing to fight Bute, Magee is one of the best choice still available at 168. Easy fight for Bute.

 

to be fair Andrade knocked Stieglitz the **** out. And now that guy has a belt. And Berrio was a champ, Bute killed the guy.
