The Ironic thing is that Froch has never beat a
champion "en titre" aka Defending Champion. He won his belt every time when it was vacant.

    Anything official yet?
I Don't fancy Magee. I wanted Stieglitz but I understand... he refused to fight him before.Sartison was all over Bute's close ppl's lips after Stieglitz refused an offer to fight him in Romania, so I was expecting him to be next.Maybe he turned down an offer to.Who knows

Romanian television has quoted Larouche on Magee's chances against Bute, saying something like not even the lucky clover can't help him against Lucian.
So It's 99.9 % sure that Magee is gonna be fighting Bute

If at least they can announce what will be next, so I won't take a 6 months boxing break.
As bad as it looks, it is probably the "best" choice for Bute. If Stieglitz has refused to fight him agains, with Dirrell and Kessler still out, who else? Larouche must think it's better to prepare Bute for a southpaw since he has to waste time until someone good is available.

They could've made Bika2 thinking that Bika was outboxed by Bute easy in the first match and after the succes againt Ward in the first 6 rounds it is a chance that he will try to get inside and do the same .... perfect training for Ward.
On the other hand if they gonna fight Ward they can call him as sparing and Bika is high risk(headbutt/elbow and others) low reward kind of fight.

I have to say I agree that Magee is far better opposition than what Bute lost precious time on in the past 2 years. That being said, I'm hoping for a better challenge for a 2 M pay day!!!!

It's about time we have a fight were the end is not crystal clear. I know few boxers are available or willing to fight him, still, Showtime must pull something big to increase intrest on Bute, kinda take care of their investment.

Bute isnt doing shite with his career, look at Jean Pascal, that guy is going places even in fighting at home. I somehow struggle with the idea of people ducking Lucian Bute, except people like Stieglitz ofcourse.

Throw Andre Dirrell a million dollar offer and see if he bites. Who the **** wants to see Magee?

Dirrell and Bute will fight in March. Don't know who their opponents will be but Hopefully in March it's Bute-Stieglitz and Dirrell-Sartison. I see the fights setting up for a Bute vs Dirrell fight in the Fall or Winter. These fight should fall right in line with the S6 Simi Finals and Final, which should produce a showtime megafight between the winners of both. The S6 winner will be crowned the best at 168 before the mega match, but the winner of the fights above will be as worthy a challenger as anyone for that top spot. That fight will produce a pound for pound Top 4 fighter.

Showtime is in on the Dirrell mess and that's why they aren't suing him. They already figure Ward is gonna win the S6 and there was no need for Dirrell or Ward to fight eachother at this time. Showtime could have seen that they didn't wanna fight eachother and then reacted with a plan for them to fight in the future or at the least setting up a huge fight with Bute-Ward after the S6. I find it funny that Dirrell pulls out and within 2 months is talking about fighting in March while Showtime signs Bute. I see some good bouts going on at 168.

Makes a lot of sense to me, but, I would rather have Bute-Dirrell in March, and let Sartinson and Steiglitz fight in Europe, anyway, they don't want to hear about unification, so, might as well start the show now!!
