That is what I'm thinking is gonna happen and that card will be in Montreal to get the fans warmed up to Dirrell. The Supersix will likely resume thier Semifinals at this time or in April. Still Later on in the year the plan should be to put a Dirrell vs Bute Match up near the S6 finals match up. This will set the stage for a bigger fight than the S6 finals.
See, I thought Ward would see Dirrell as a good preparation milestone for an eventual fight vs Bute... Dirrell and Ward massaged each other's sack instead.
If you thought that then you clearly have no insight or ability to put yourself in another mans place. These are friends who realised it was pointless for them to fight now. Obviously Showtime Agreed with them and suspiciously set this plan in motion. One thing that comes out of this is Bute will have to earn his spot to face the S6 winner because he dam sure hasn't earned it yet. Dirrell vs Bute winner definately earns the right. The other thing is that Dirrell vs Ward at this point makes no sense seeing how their story together is. Dirrell vs Ward after all the smoke settles is a huge fight with a Feel good story behind it. It would be like Sweet P fighting Meldrick Taylor if he wasn't stopped by Chavez. It would have been a huge fight because of their long friendship.
Exactly. I don't feel they should have even entertained the idea from the beginning, assuming this wasn't dropped on their desk as a last minute request. Why not even tell the whole world about it? "Here are the S6 fighters... by the way, Ward & Dirrell can't fight each other no matter how the tourney plays out. Have an awesome ****in day." I got nothing against the fighters. I'm not gonna turn this into a Dirrell Oscar nomination. S6 masterminds, on the other hand, can go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned. They either couldn't stand their ground, or have been so deep into pro-American bias it's not even funny.
Why does he just come around without ever posting ? Does he actually have every single one of us on ignore ?
He got banned for something he should not have been banned for. Now the ban is over, but he's all pissed off, and "standing on principle."
Tell him to put his ego aside...it's a road block at the end of the day... We need posters like you & him to stay on board.
I am near to be discouraged myself. Not by Bute but my his promoter, who was maybe a bit too green to get him the proper way to success. I know Bute wants anybody for a long time. Timing, money, egos, injuries, many things happen in boxing, but I feel there are too much of those things in Bute's career. It's a shame.
One of the bad things about the S6 is that it tied up a bunch of fighters for too long. Bute has to stay busy, and he's doing that.
