There is a very good chance that after nearly 20 years of boxing KP may be a rather old 28, and past his best.

There is also a good chance that weight drain was the real problem. It's my understanding that between Wednesday morning and Friday at 3:00 PM Pavlik had one small salad and some water, that he ran 10 miles Wednesday and Thursday, and ran on Friday morning, plus time on the stationary bike, and time in the sauna all without anything much to eat. When he should have been in rest and recovery mode he was busting his ass to make weight. I do not doubt that all of that played a roll in his mental and physical fitness.

I do not think that things from 18-24 months ago are all that relevant. If people want to live on things from the past, they ought to compare the way KP looked in the Zuniga fight with the way he looked in that vid that shows him at about 180 pounds. There is a pretty good chance that the scale has been a tougher opponent than almost anybody he fought for nearly 5 years.

Looks like we will find out soon enough. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, how many times have I said we are robbed of guys best performances because of the 'day before' weigh ins?

Even though it would have been a bad idea for Pav to join that tourney, it would have been a great time to move up. With only Bute as a real problem...

He could have got comfortable at the weight while fighting Andrade, Green, Miranda, Bika, then Bute.. By that time the S6 guys would've been ready to go.

It's not like Pavlik is fading in fights
He's equally as poor technically as he is mentally
I don't expect to see much improvement when he's fighting at 168.

Pavlik lost and got some money and went out and boozed and prolly didnt eat healthy...he's not the most athletic guy...he's discouraged with boxing you could see that in the Martinez fight.

I got a feeling Pavlik is gonna pull an upset against Bute.

Pavlik has won way more belts than a cat Bute, who is afaraid to leave his backyard.

Bute suck, Andrade ko'd him the first time they fought. Pavlik dominated Andrade, not hard to figure how this fight will play out geniuses. HBO always hypes certain fighters, now it's Bute's turn.

I don't think he sucks. I think Pavlik has more skills and experiance than Bute. When did he fight Andrade, like early in his career or something? I dont remeber that.

I keep hearing people making this comment, which leads me to believe that some people don't actually understand what technical boxing is. If anything, Pavlik's too technical and textbook and hasn't got the natural boxing ability to adjust from that.
