Well, I disagree. It's not by means of statistics one should decide who's "the best out there", and even less by forum discussions of a rather sparse dataset of performances. As well as Froch and Ward, Bute has yet to prove through direct encounters with the other top contenders & champions he is the best of SMW division. Unless this happens, any top hierarchy will be intrinsically plagued by too deep uncertainties and subjectivity to be worthy.

Please do explain what do you mean by "you cats" while quoting my post. Keep in mind that whether I followed discussions on ESB for a long time, I posted my first messages here only this week, so it would be very dull to assign me some opinion expressed more than two years ago by someone else.

Well, it happens it's the only objective rating system freely available I know of. If you know another one, please feel free to use it and share the results with us on the forum.
Meanwhile, you should try to understand what I wrote. I was trying to give a meaning to your allegations about everyone vs. no one, and within this framework I was complaining about actual objective rating of Kessler which no longer would meet by more than 100 points the one threshold in fit with your claim (that is: accepting to the 500 objective pts. threshold implies that an eventual victory of Bute over Kessler nowdays would not be enough to improve the quality of his opposition to your standards).

Why, because you decided so?! Sorry, it's not enough, see above why.
It might be so or not, but you certainly don't have the correct and appropriated input data to decide it with clean and ultimate objectivity (and no one has it yet). Anyway, the issue I wanted to settle was the fallacy of your comparison between Bute and Ward oppositions, and by no means to make a comparison between Bute and Ward values. I would be happy if you'd acknowledge my point and don't try to bring the discussion somewhere else.

I bet you have no clue about the mathematics supporting objective rating systems. Anyway, as stated above, feel free to propose any objective numerical ranking system fits your preferences. If there is no such a system, please indicate this clearly and we will all know for sure then that all you claimed is no more than a subjective opinion of someone deprived of the most elementary mathematical means to decide about rankings.

    Obviously not.

LOL, I wouldn't have taken all that time referencing BS backed by a nonsensical points system on an unofficial private owned site.
BoxRec is a piece of crap.

All it should be used for is as a reference for past/future fights. That's all the fuk it's good for. :yep

Bute is according to his adoring fans, the slickest, quickest, most technically gifted, and most hard punching SMW in the world, and prior to the Johnson fight, was going to KO/TKO Johnson.Whilst he won by landslide,i don't remember him having Johnson in any kind of trouble, and in all honesty Johnson was reluctant to engage.Bute simply outboxed him.
Johnson is tough, but slick and slippery he ain't,watch any of his fights, and he eats punches in all of them,he was stunned by some of Frochs punches, and outboxed by Green untill catching Green s chin.
With this in mind, please enlighten me,about how Bute will toy with,"slap around" and stop, the likes of Froch,Ward, and Kessler ?????????

I favored Ward as the darkhorse. I knew he was the real deal after seeing him dismantle Chris Holt on TV. Have been an avid fan since. Kessler & Abraham were the official "co-favorites" by the boxing pundits...

And that's what this anti-Bute campaign is really all about. :-(

Not that I needed any confirmation, however.
