I don't see Larsen win this one for now, but Larsen 3 years ago is another story.
    Exciting fight thou.

Larsen kept Kessler from the limelight at TeamPalle. It was he that was the big future champion and was no. 3 at the highest on rankings at SMW.

However, much of his career he suffered from injuries, bad attitude, fake injuries, too much green - that he didn't go all the way. He had a shot at Ottke, but didn't do great, but still was robbed.

He was the one that was set for Siaca - then he got injured - and Palle chose Kessler as a replacement. Mads Larsen was furious that Palle didn't pospone the fight - and everything turned ugly. Larsen abandoned his contract and was therefore unable to fight for 3-4 years due to illegal breach of contract.

Then he ended up at Sauerland.

Had he been prime, he would probably be too much for Bute, but now he is no longer what he used to be. Still he is a capable fighter - but Bute should be able to win it. He does however have much better experience than Bute. But I am not sure of the hunger or the mindset of Mads anymore(or ever).

Mads is a technically as sound a fighter as Bute, perhaps even slightly more. However, Bute is slightly faster. Bute is bigger. Bute has longer reach.

Mads was retired for several years before making kind of a come-back and since hisretirement we haven;t seen his old level. He could surprise us all, but Bute is a fairly big favorite.

quite frankly larsen at this point in time sucks.. im a dane and have seen the majority of his "first career", and you cant even come close to comparing what he was, to what he is..

bute will overwhelm him and its just going be another day at the office. larsen offers absolutely no problems for bute at this point.

the only chance larsen has is going all out, se sure as hell aint going to do well, if he is going the counter punching route.. that doesnt go to well, when

    1. facing a faster opponent
    2. who has a longer reach
    3. who has better footwork

and larsen is going to to face all of the above..

Larsen WAS worldclass, but I think he got desillusioned after Kessler stole the spotlight. I dont think he is in this for any other reason than money. He has gone soft since he became a father, he to kind and soft now a days. I liked the arrogant Larsen of yesteryear, but he did not cope well with lifes little dents.
If he liked to box he would have a very good chance against Bute, but I think motivation is elsewhere in life.....
He was a real KOking as a young fighter and he was very rarely hit severly, dont think I have seen him down for real at any point except lately. He is very good a protecting himself, maybe to good to be a real badass.
    Hi guys by the way

He was suppose to fight Bute back in April but Bute pulled out because of a knee injury that kept him out of the game until the Andrade fight in October.

Edit: Didn't realize this tread was a few months old.

Larsen is fighting next. I'm gonna see how he compares to Bute. He is fighting a guy with a 9-2 record but who is a multiple time kickboxing champ

Larsen, unfortunately, is done. I remember his career pre-Ottke well. I've seen an awful lot of him - and I could honestly say that at his best, he could give Bute hell and perhaps beat him.

    This version gets stopped.

I'm watching his fight against Roberto Cocco live right now (italien kickboxer turned boxer lost 2 of his last 3 fights). Larsen looks much better than in his last fights but he still is, maybe not far off but at least some way off his prime. He will give Bute a good fight but I doubt he can beat him.

Larsen was tied down in a lawsuit with Team Palle and was inactive for 3½ years!!!

Mads Larsen TKO 7th. Cotto worn down and his corner throws in the towel. Larsen looks in shape but his timing still needs work to qualify him for a title-shot

Best version of Mads since comeback. He still lacks some power, but hey he is the first to stop Cocco...

So Bute is next, gonna be tough!

I just wanna say that if Bute can't get passed Mads Larsen then we can forget about all the hype we are giving him in MOntreal. Larsen is technically solid but athletically theres not much there.

    Very good performance by Mads!

    Clearly top-10 IMO.
