Bute's Post Fight statements transcript

Bute was interviewed by the Romanian press 1 hour after the fight.


It was quite ugly night for me, first loss and a pretty bad one he stopped me in the 5th. We must give credit to Carl Froch his strategy worked well. From my point of view I let myself dominated quite a bit
I've waited a bit to much on the ropes which wasn't good at all but I thought I can catch him on the counter,which I did, I've done it couple of times and in the 3rd round.But unfortunately he surprised(as in hit) me more he left his hands go better. He surprised me(as in hit me) with those shots with the hooks and I can tell you that he hits powerful enough but I thought I can take it. I received blows I recovered I had the feeling I can pick up my rhythm again to be in control of the fight but he did it once more(as in hurt him).It's not the end of the world but I need to take a break now I need a vacation to go in Romania and spent some time with my family to rest It was a pretty long training camp was a pretty long period since
I've boxed, November last year and I stayed in training camp and now I really feel like I need a little holiday,to relax. I will go to Montreal and I'll speak with my promoter with my coach and we'll see what decision we will take further. It's not the end of the world I think I'm capable and I have the power to comeback. There were fights when I was an amateur that I've lost and I'll came back, in the pro's It never happen until now I've never lost but once more all the great boxer If we look in the history of boxing, there are only a few we could count them on the finger of a hand there are only a few who retired undefeated. Most of them have lost so this ain't the end of the world. I have the strength and the character to be able to comeback.
Reporter: You believe that his fight would have unfold differently if this fight wasn't here in Nottingham his own backyard.
Now it's to much to talk if it was in other place or if it was in Montreal it is hard to tell what now for the time being this was the fight this was the deal, I've agreed to come in his backyard thinking I can beat him an important element was the public also who was on his side. I wasn't that fazed by the audiance I remain focused on what I had to do but unfortunately it was his night. I have to admit this he surprised me, he hit me and he deserves the win, he was better tonight.
Reporter: But do you regret that a little that you choose to fight in his backyard?
I don't regret a thing, it was my decision and I really don't regret I have nothing to regret in this matter because I wanted this I wanted to prove to everybody and I said that a victory against Carl Forch in his backyard will earn me some credit. I really believed it that's why I accepted to fight in his hometown otherwise I could've been well at Montreal but this it was happens in boxing a Champion losses some times I'll comeback, I think I'm capable to come back. It is not the end of the world and I'll be back training and I will be a Champion again.
Reporter: Even Carl Froch said that when he lost to Ward thought that it could've been all over, but look he managed to come back and...
Another concrete example, and it's not the only one, there are very many fighters who lost and succeed in coming back. I think I have the capacity to comeback from this. This is what I believe.
Reporter: Will there be a rematch with Froch?
It is in the contract but it's to early to speak about it the fight only finished 1 hour ago. Like I've already stated I need a small holiday a little break I want to rest a bit it was a long training camp I haven't fought since last year November, 7 months since my last fight. I had a training camp in USA I've trained very hard and I really need a little break. I'll go home to rest a bit after I'll go to Montreal to talk with my Promoter and my coach to take a decision.
Reporter: How do you feel right now? Practically this is a very though moment.
I'm disappointed.. I feel good I don't have any problems at all, (Larouche: Last Question) It happens this is boxing. Disappointed I didn't wanted to end like this, this night but once again I repeat myself in boxing this can happen. It's not an excuse tonight he was better he deserves the victory I congratulate him and I hope next time I can take my revenge
Reporter: What message do you have for all the Romanians who suffered along side you tonight
I'm sorry for them, I'm sorry for me and for them to.
