Let me get this straight. You are now trying to argue that Bute has fought fighters the caliber of Ward, Dirrell, Froch, Taylor (even the shot to **** one AA fought that still give Froch 11.5 rounds of all he could handle) because I included Stieglitz on AA's resume?

Bika may have made ugly fights, but he was outclassed by every notable person he has fought.

Dirrell was hit by one of the hardest punchers in boxing while on the ground and not prepared. Pathetic that you would call what happended afterwards acting.

Oosthuzien can have any trinket he would like, he isn't top 10 and any top 10 or top 15 fighter he faces will hurt him and take him out.

wrong homie,Stieglitz was a paper champ.A Bikka,Magee or a Berrio win is better on any resumee than Stieglitz.He lost to Berrio,Andrade and now AA.what that tells you?it tells you he is a shitty class C fighter,he allways have been,with the exception of a decent win with Balzsay he never beaten anyone.so it is not the case of A,B and C here.Stieglitz is a fraud and AA has a **** resume.deal with it.

The Rings SMW ratings went very strange in my opinion when the S6 was on. I think they were edging for a Ring champ. I mean Kessler beats Froch, then in Frochs next fight he fights Abraham coming off a loss and they just put him straight above Kessler who he had beaten. Seemed odd.
As I recall, Bute was #1 after Ward beat Kessler and after Ward beat Bika, a fighter Bute had beaten years previously, Ward went above Bute.
The ratings and belt dont mean a great deal to me as the ratings are opinion based and not result based.
Looking at those ratings it just shows how weak the SMW division is at this time. Compare now to so many of the monthly ratings back in 2005 and below and today looks very weak

 

Wasn't Kessler number 1 before the super 6? So a win over Kessler should put Ward at the top spot anyway.

The Froch above Kessler I agree with you but I think it was more to do with Kessler inactivity at that stage.

Kessler was #1 at the time. But Ward didnt go in at 1, he went in at 2. I guess just one win over Kessler wasnt overall better than Berrio, Andrade then #3 SMW and #5 SMW as well as some other title fights combined.
Still however you argue that, how did Froch just go above Kessler who he lost to one fight later beating a fighter coming off a loss? Somehow Froch then went above Bute also. I think that was when he beat Johnson who was a SMW journeyman. It was all odd.
It looked to me like they were trying to get the ratings to have Froch and Ward as #1 and #2 to get a Ring champ

 

It wasn't odd. It was a pure set-up to crown the Ring Champ in the Final of the S6.

Dirrell hasnt beaten anyone of note other than a blown up MW who couldnt compete and wanted to drop back to MW at the time, and Dirrell did that when out cold by DQ. At the time Abraham had done nothing at SMW.
Arguably Dirrells biggest win was debateable between Oganov/Abraham.
Yet somehow hes being classed as a top SMW for not beating anyone of note

 

Dirrell is ranked high based on his rep and on his perceived talent.

Funny thing is he's probably not richer than anyone who's ever been ranked as high as him in the division, cause you don't get paid for a high ranking if you don't fight anyone.
