Bute's Win over Andrade Diminishes Andre Ward's Defeat of Mikkel Kessler

With Lucian Bute's definitive win against Librado Andrade, some of the shine is likely to come off of Andre Ward's victory over pre-Super Six favorite Mikkel Kessler.

Andrade had been undefeated when Kessler easily beat him in their match. However, it took Kessler all 12 rounds to do so and he was not able to KO Andrade as Bute did in just 4 rounds and following two knockdowns.

With Andrade easily handled by Bute last night, Kessler's resume is diminished once again, in a similar manner to the hiding he took against Joe Calzaghe (a 9-3 or 8-4 fight, in rounds Calzaghe won).

With Kessler's resume appearing to look weaker by the moment, how much credit do you now give Andre Ward for his headbutt-plagued victory over the Dane?

    Poll above.

You're a complete joke but everyone knows that. Truthfully I never rated Kessler anyway. Ward should be concentrating on unifying the division and one day challenging good boxers like Dawson. Noone will know Kesslers name in 5 years.

As for Bute, Bute beat a walking punching bag. Took him 2 tries which says alot about him. As for it diminishing Wards win? Who cares. The rest of the SMW champions are living on barrowed time anyway

To be honest, all of their resumes have now taken such a bashing that I'm forced to conclude that none of Ward, Bute, Kessler, Abraham or Froch are top ten quality at SMW.

The problem is that no-one else is either.

So I've taken the only logical step and the top ten places in my SMW rankings are now vacant. Ward, Bute and Abraham are joint 11th.

It's tough, "Danny," I know. Your chi is weak -- that has always been evident to all who read your posts.

I'm sorry Andrade's KO loss makes Ward's win over Kessler look diminished. The truth hurts.

Now, if Ward had a resume like Calzaghe's -- with wins over B-Hop, Reid, Eubank, Lacy, etc -- then it wouldn't be an issue. But he doesn't. So for now, he has to live with having his two biggest wins be a used-up never-was from Colombia and Calzaghe's leftovers.

    Them's the breaks, Iron Twit.

Hey moron. Go rewatch the fight and point to me within the first 8 rounds, which Ward dominated 7-1(you could give Kessler round 5 if you are generous) how many headbutts he landed. I know you're desperate for one of your fighters to win and thats why you make such excuses but atleast do that for me. Lets see how truly stupid you are. *head pat*

Dumbass, I just said I didnt rate Kessler in the first place. Dont you read clown? How would it diminish his victory if I didnt rate Kessler at all. Remember when I said Ward would win easy? Yeah so you can see how highI hold KEssler up. Im glad you found another Hype to latch on to though, watching you constantly fail is a joy on this forum.

Of course Ward doesnt have a resume like calzaghe's, it took Calzsaghe 20 years to compile that mediocrity laced list. Ward is only 25 and hungry. Ward said he's going to unify, how like did it take Slaps? Please dont change the subject. YOu have a hard enough time with one topic requiring boxing knowledge.

That seems to be Iron Twit's argument, yes. The guy whose sack he's swinging from now looks less than even the headbutts, elbows, low blows and bending below Kessler's waist made him look.

Now you know why Daniel is so, so very angry. LOL! :good

Are you kidding? I know that you have an axe to grind, but this line of reasoning is a stretch. Bute practically dominated Andrade the first time anyway. It's only the way that this fight ended that is surprising.

    Fair enough. :good

Sounds like Ward hasn't really beaten anyone then. Let's hope Taylor can give him a real go.

Andrade is a decent fighter, but he is easy to hit, and not really skilled. For every fan who fans claim that this fighter has this iron chin, when you are hit enough, you will break. You need technique to go along with an iron chin like Hagler had. The Margarito's and Andrade's never last in this game. Ward beat an elite super middle in Kessler who shut out Andrade badly when they fought.

I look at Wards win as a bit bigger because Ward was unproven against a guy like Kessler where as Andrade was known to have a great chin, but no real skills. The win over Andrade was a great win for Bute. It's always good to defeat a man who many thought beat you, and then silencing your critics at the same time, but Ward-Kessler was a tier above Bute-Andrade in terms of which win was better.

Andrade was a great win for Kessler. LA went into the fight undefeated. Well, Bute just made Andrade look like a can -- and one whose chin isn't what it's cracked up to be.

That hurts Kessler's resume, which means it hurts Ward's resume. That's why DannyRand is flipping out. He knows the deal.

Just call him what he is. A clown. Still waiting on him to point out which rounds before 8 Ward headbutted Kessler in.
