Here's one that might generate some discussion.

Butterbean could hit. He had 20 1st round KOs.

Rourke had an undefeated record, but they are suspect..IMO. I think he was a fraud.
With Bean's power and weight- I'll take Butterbean over Rourke by KO.

    Butterbean by slaughter.

A 50 year old prison-bound Monzon KO'd Rourke within seconds.

Butterbean would to Mickey what he did to Johnny Knoxville.

Hey, a matchup bean can win. Well, he has over 100 lbs. weight advantage so duh.

Rourke's career unfortunately was a sham. I think he was an honest enough type, but his opponents were suspect, to put it mildly.

Rourke claims he sparred with both Duran and Toney. He lost those jobs because he gave them too much trouble.

Mickey Rourke went undefeated as a pro but yes Butterbean would flatten him.

    Butterbean could box.

Butterbean had (way over) over 100 lbs. on many HWs, & he could never beat the best of them at any weight. Hee went from fat to severely obese & his skills & endurance were limited. He was a real threat in a 4 rounder type fight & his right was extremely hard.
The fact that Rourke was no more than a MW makes a huge difference, as well as not a top contender at any weight. Rourke has no realistic chance.

I would be very surprised if he lost jobs to Toney or Duran due to being too good.
At least any decent version of them.

In fairness to Rourke, he gave it a go. Obviously he never had any chance of doing anything of merit in boxing, but then again he never had any aspirations of doing so. I believe he had a brief amateur career and probably just wanted to live out some fantasies as a pro boxer for a while. Nothing wrong with that.

This isn't really a discussion worth having.

Sorry, folks, Rourke was a very alleged heroin enthusiast/addict through much of his time boxing. I knew 2 guys who were at the same gym at that time. He was not good on the pro level. Most of his fights were (alleged to be) fixes. He visited a 50 year old Monzon in an Argentine prison and offered to spar. Ancient Carlos cold ****ed him and ****ed up his jaw within seconds of this match-up.

Butterbean could actually box. He was an excellent 4 round fighter in the mold of Fat Willie Meehan but he could really punch. He would slaughter any version of Rourke.

Even though Butterbean could hit there always was a couple hundred guys who could beat him. He just doesn't fight those guys. That's why he was king of the 4 rounders. But he was a real boxer!!

Micky was a rich boxing fan helped along against guys who helped him to realise his dream. It was not for real but he was a nice guy. The best you can say is Rourke was better than losers who were trying to lose.

I hate it picking Butterbean in fantasy fights.. But this is one that I can't see Rourke standing a chance in. Bean at least qualified for being a true professional and had an unbearable weight advantage. Rourke's pro career was more novelty than any serious endeavor.
