I heard that Butterbean wanted to fight Tyson in the 90's, but it never went through. Butterbean was great back then and even held championships. If that fight would have happen who do you think would win and why. Plus I think that fight would have skyrocketed Butterbean even more. I think Tyson would win by decision. As I don't' see that Butterbean would get knocked out.

Listen he even said he wanted to fight Tyson. The guy was large, but had skill. Just because you don't agree with things I say doesn't make me a troll. Also, your the guys who come into the MMA section and troll. I just asked a question. If you don't like it don't comment in the thread.

Tyson was in the top 3 of the heavyweight division then. Butterbean was a 4 round undercard attraction. why in hell would tyson fight a guy ranked around #400 in the world?? :-(

    butterbean was shite, that why.

but in the era of k bros gassing fatboy opposition he would be a dangerous contender. Butterbean is the definitive version of a K bro opponent, the ultimate manifestation of the words gassing fatboy, and today would have fought the K bros for their titles at least once a piece.

Oh I didn't know he was on undercards. I thought he was a gatekeeper or in the uppercards. My bad i'm still learning the ropes in Boxing.

It never happend because when they tried getting Bean 6 rounders he was getting gassed, and would have been easily outboxed by 10 round fighters.
He, and his handlers knew what was up.
Bean never ever made it into any kind of rankings since he never beat anyone, and faced worse than Wilder competition.
You can't spectacularly KO random guy's with 2-7 records 50 times, and expect anyone to take any kind of notice, especially since some of the 2-7 guys went the distance.
I was there watching it all during the Bean days, and there was never ever anything to write home about on his resume.
He was a fun fighter to bring in for what amounted to exhibition fights to boost the gate, and since the crowd never cared if he was 50-1, and fighting a 2-7 guy the would just line up a 2-9 guy for the next 4 rounder, and count the money.
He was worth more like he was than a failed toughman competitor who lost to a few fringe contenders.
Guys like Jeremy Williams, Lou Saverese, and Darrol Wilson would have KO'ed the bean so let's not talk about Tyson.

Beans skills are underrated by some, but yeah, any version of Tyson except maybe the one who lost to McBride beats him.

Tyson would have killed him. Butterbean was never ranked highly, he never fought anyone who was any good. What's his best win, Peter McNeeley? 60 or so fights into his career he was still fighting guys with losing records and only a handful of fights. Any version of Tyson beats Butterbean early.

Yeah, he did want to fight Tyson. I don't think it's an unreasonable question to ask. There were some who actually wanted to see this fight. I remember Butterbean and Tyson meeting at a fight one time, and Bean shook hands with him, but Tyson was giving him this baleful glare while shaking hands.

Bean I suppose wanted a big payday without actually having to earn one. He was 'the king of the four rounders' but never a real contender. I agree he could hit like hell and had okay skills, but he never proved it against class opposition.

So while he was making some noise about fighting Tyson, it was never a fight that was a realistic proposition. They were operating on different levels.
