Butterbean vs ?

    Which Heavyweight champions could a prime Butterbean have beaten?
    Here are my guesses:
    Tommy Burns
    Primo Carnera
    Buster Douglas
    Bruce Seldon

    Floyd Patterson is a possibility. Patterson let an opponent get into his head before the fight. Liston did it. Butterbean and his baleful stare could have done it.

    Do you agree that Bean could have beat the Ali who fought Larry Holmes? If you think about it, you can think of more.

    Not a ****ing chance he could beat even a brain dead Ali on diuretics. Jesus. Butter bean was NOTHING compared to a real pro.

    I don't think he could beat even a corpse of Ali to be honest. We've seen him against grandpa Holmes and he looked all-time bad in that fight.

    Did u see the Ali-Holmes fight? I think most adult males could have beat Ali that night. He shouldn't have been allowed in the ring. Now imagine Bean vs the Patterson who fought Liston both times. He was petrified with fear.

    What version of those chosen are you putting against BB?
    Cos Buster Douglas definitely whips him. Seldon probably does unless he gets tagged by a lucky shot.
    Tommy Burns probably gets mauled. Butter Bean was a good 4 rounds fighter.

    What about Patterson after Bean stares daggers at him at the weigh-in? At best Patterson was a powder puff puncher. Think of him trying tp break thru a 400 lb wall of fat. I think Floyd would walk into the ring already beat.

    Floyd s main problem would be here, his chin. And yes obviously the weight would be an issue.
    Skill wise Floyd is miles above him but there are definitely issues here for Floyd to over come.

    Then you're wrong. Most adult males have no idea how to box and would be gassed after one round.
    Butterbean wouldn't make three rounds against Patterson. Floyd would crush him.
    Carnera who was much better than Butterbean. Also, Sharkey was past his best at that point.

    You make good points. I disagree about Patterson. I think BB would do to Patterson exactly what Liston did.

    Patterson faced a lot of good, powerful punchers and none of them did the same Liston did. Sonny is just so much better at everything. Butterbean wouldn't land a punch on Patterson, I'm confident on that after I watched him looking like an untrained person against almost 60 years old Holmes.
