What makes this particularly bad, however, is that after padding Wilder's record with complete stiffs for over five years, Wilder's management are continuing to fight mediocre competition in order to protect Wilder's fragile mandible from getting shattered before the big cash out against Povetkin and/or Klitschko. This kind of fraud is offensive to those who value real competition in the sport of boxing.
david lemieux lost to rubio and alcine......why isnt ggg fighting andre ward? at least wilder has an excuse with his late start in the game
All excuses go out the window when you have a belt, you are OBLIGATED to fight the best, and face your mandatories. This is has nothing to do with GGG though, and you're just spouting nonsense anyways. Move along.
The announcement will likely be made after tomorrow night's card. If Tarver wins, I can see Wilder-Tarver in Alabama. If Cunningham wins, I can see Wilder fighting him. Although, I don't know if it'll be in Alabama. If Tarver and Cunningham ends up being close or a draw, and Spzilka wins on the undercard, I could see Artur getting the shot in September. And, whether Cunningham wins or loses, I could see Marco Huck (who is fighting on the undercard) rematching with Cunningham on an upcoming show. (Cunningham stopped Huck at cruiserweight years ago.) Or, maybe it'll be Duhaupas. Although, I think he'd be an odd choice for a national television defense. I think they'd want someone who has appeared on more U.S. broadcasts ... like Tarver, Cunningham or Spzilka. On Twitter, Spzilka has hinted that he may be next. Actually, I get the feeling how things play out Friday may decide matters.
We got it. Jesus. Sconiers. Dustin. Sconiers. Dustin. You're flooding the board with your trite, redundant threads. Let us talk in peace without you mucking up this thread, too.
Those losses happened when he was 22 years old. He is the champ now, and about to try his luck on having two belts against GGG.
Cunningham, Tarver and Spzilka are very dangerous opponents for Wilder. I do not think they will choose them.
That's logical but would the Tarver-Cunningham winner make it to WBC top15? If so, would they take the fight in 6 weeks notice?
Say Cunningham/Tarver is a grueling fight that goes all 12, no way either guy takes the fight with Wilder in only a months time, maybe if an early knockout is scored.... But I think this is going to be a chessmatch that comes down to the brink.
Well, as a former WBC champion, Tarver can simply ask the WBC for a title shot. He doesn't have to be rated. That's one of the perks of being a reigning/former WBC champ. It's usually used when a champ is moving up from one division to another. But former WBC champs have asked for and received shots when they weren't ranked. As for Cunningham, if he knocked out Tarver, let's say, I can see him easily getting a ranking (and replacing Arreola or Ruiz, who hasn't fought this year and has no fights scheduled) in the next ratings. He's still rated in the top 10 by the IBF and probably should be in the WBC. Spzilka is already rated in the top 10. So I think he has the inside track, if he wins and doesn't get cut. All these guys have been training, so whoever has the easiest night/wins most impressively probably gets it. A six-week camp is fine if you're already in fighting shape.
