Do you guys think he is the real deal? For me, it's very hard to tell because he is fighting punching bags and is heavy handed. He's on the next berto card so I'm wondering if they are setting them up to fight. Tbh, he kinda looks like a pre-Ortiz berto. Anyway, what do,you guys think
He looks to be the real deal in terms of a future top ranked ww/jmw. His last win was over a good fighter and Thurman impressed me on that fight alone. When all is said and done, he may end up as the guy to beat Mayweather in year or so if Alvarez fails.
I'll buy. Great power, better speed than he's getting credit for in this thread, and he seems to have good stamina and chin. Also, he's obviously eager to learn and he has great sympatico with Dan Birmingham.
too me from readin this it seems like power is overated and speed is underated. he a well rounded balanced fighter.
Keith Thurman is the real deal IMO. I see him as a guy that will be on top of the sport in a few more years. He looks like he has all the tools and heart to be a star. He's got a great trainer, great speed, appears to take a good punch and has balls so he's a real threat to anybody at 147-154 IMHO
I believe he will make his true mark at 154, might win a ABC title at 147 but he is more than big enough for 154, hes a huge WW. The Chaves fight is a fight we might learn if he can take a power shot as Chaves looks like he can bang to me. I've liked what i have seen so far from one time but its a bit hard to judge as he hasn't exactly fought high level op yet but he is getting there as each fight seems to be getting tougher. I think we will know more after this fight.
i would love to see thurman fight broner. but im sure that will not happen for awhile yet. thurmans the future
Depends what "real deal" means. Will he be ranked for the next couple years and be an tough outing for anyone? I think so. Will he ever crack the P4P list? It really is too early to tell, I'd obviously have to say no. He is very crude.
