The judge that scored it 96-94 to Sims - that is absolutely fine. That, a draw, 96-94 to Francesca, or even 97-93 to Sims all feel like they're within the plausible range.

99-91, though? On two judges' cards? Francesca had at least a few clear rounds. That sucks.

Sims is now the WBA International champ at bantamweight, making her effectively the mandatory for Māori-Kiwi warrior Cherneka Lee "Sugar Neekz" Johnson.

    Ah, well...that explains it.

Went looking for information about Euri Cedeño Martínez's bout with Willie Jones being canceled or something, and discovered that he was demoted same-day from the main event all the way down to SHOW OPENER due to an opponent change. Instead of Jones he fought 38 year old Colombian glass cannon Luis Eduardo Flores Suárez, who is now 27-35. Cedeño knocked out Flores in 2 rounds.

Flores was a dangerous fella, once upon a time. Way back in 2014 he blitzed a young Miguel Berchelt via KO1, and that stood for several years as El Alacrán's only professional defeat.

Lately, though? Flores is on a 2-19 slump, and both wins came over nobodies with losing records. Willie Jones wasn't exactly a massive step up for Cedeño, but...he was a hell of a lot better than Flores in the big 2025.

I'll post a video if and when it turns up, but right now there isn't so much as one second of footage to be found on Cedeño vs. Florez... :nusenuse:

I've been told by a member of the boxing press that Jones actually pulled out all the way back on Tuesday. No word on when Florez was brought in as replacement.

(...and I'm still on the hunt for videos or at least a GIF of the stoppage!)
