For the simple fact that Floyd stated that Pac has went from ordinary to extrodinary. Now lets take Martinez. Up until a year or 2 ago, nobody even knew who he was, or knew of anyone remotely notworthy that he has beaten. When u look at his resume, it shows that up until beating Cintron in 09, then moving on to go 1-1 with P. Williams and getting KO of the year, beating Pavlik, then just recently stopping Dzinziruk, Martinez has beaten on a bunch of nobody's from overseas. Therefore he's gone from being mediocre and beating on a bunch of nobody's to what he has accomplished in the last 2 years and being mentioned as one of the top 3 pfp fighters in the world. Now if that doesnt constitute going from ordinary to extordinary, then I dont know what does. Lets not forget that Martinez didnt even step into a gym till he was 20yrs old! Martinez doesnt have an issue with taking blood therefore Floyd cant use it as a tool to mess with his head. If he was on a collision course with Floyd, Floyd would use other excuses and reasons not to fight him. -Where was Martinez 10yrs ago when I was dominating? -He lost to Paul Williams -He lost to Margarito who lost to Shane whom I beat therefore there's no need to fight him -He has no fan base -I want a 98/2 split of the purse! -etc....
Him beating a bunch of unknown guys means he's mediocre and ordinary? :huh Have you seen those fights to judge his performaces? You didn't answer my question.. Do you think he's been avoiding top competiton up until now or they've been avoiding him?
If you're speaking of Floyd, then I would have to say HE's been avoiding. At the time Margarito was hot, he practically begged Floyd for a fight and even crashed one of his press conferences to call him out. Floyd in return took a fight with Baldomir. A fight with Tszyu was presented to Floyd, and I recall clearly Floyd stating that he's going to wait for Tszyu to get old that way he can do to Tszyu what Tszyu did to his uncle Roger once Roger was old. The entire world was calling for a fight between him and Cotto. Numerous times Cotto stated that Floyd kept running and had no idea why he didnt want to fight him. He stated that if a fight with Floyd is the fight his promoters make, he would love to face him. In return, Floyd made 101 excuses ranging from "I cant do business with Bob, to he's from PR and has no fanbase, to I'm not going to let boxing retire me, i'm going to retire from boxing". All you have to do is refer to his post fight interview with Larry Merchant when asked about a possible fight with Cotto. Now we have the issue with Pacquiao. I dont even have to go thru the details with that one because it's repeated here everyday. For some odd reason, Floyd is the hardest person to get in the ring vs top competition. There's always an excuse. Tito faced everyone Oscar faced everyone Even Mayorga has better names on his resume than Floyd win or lose Cotto has faced everyone Shane has faced everyone Margarito has faced everyone Hopkins has faced everyone Etc.. Why hasnt Floyd? :huh
He is a late bloomer, he got into boxing in his early 20's he is a natural athlete that found his calling almost too late.
they don't have magic drugs but they got some good weed. And you should try their wine. Very good stuff they got there. Hell, I even recommend visiting Argentina. I love that place.
Thanks for your rant on how Floyd ducked top competition... And your REAL reason for this thread as all previous posters I'm sure have been caught on to. So you believe Floyd ducked him... Now maybe you can move onto my question? :yep You said he fought a bunch of nobodies and was mediocre up until now. Who should he have fought instead of those nobodies and do you think he ducked them or they ducked him?
How could you say Martinez isn't on PED's definitively, does he test? I'm by no stretch saying he is, but some of you appear extremely naieve to keep dismissing this PED issue as some fringe group concern. If you look at the world of professional sports in general, this issue is very real and boxing is treading a dangerous slope by ignoring this issue. Wait until someone is seriously hurt in the ring and it's found his opponent was on PED's, either way, to act as if any athlete (including boxers) aren't on PED's based on any reason other than sophisticated, extensive, and random testing is ****ing ******ed.
Sad that Pac is scared of a $50 million dollar payday against a combination of **** and blood tests? ^His words not mine!
Well u asked a question regarding Floyd's ducking issues and I answered it. I dont think Martinez ducked anyone. He started late and was brought up slowly. If you look at his boxrec, the majority of his fights were against fighters in argentina who either had crap or losing records. Nothing along the lines of who he's fought in the past 2yrs. So compared to the quality of opposition he's fought in the past to the quality he's now facing and winning the way he is, in the eyes of many, it'll appear as if he went from some unknown to this superstar who's taking everyone out now. I'm not saying that I think this, but given Floyd's antics, he's the type to use that as an excuse.
:goodI agree and also add that Martinez didnt start boxing until he was 20 years old, he learned on the job and had only had 16 fights against a young lion Margarito... Even then he was giving Margarito trouble.. If anything this just proves what a natural talent Martinez is... There should be no suspicion as he started out at welter, fought most of his fights at JM and has filled out to be a natural middle in his mid 30s. PS i picked him over Pavlik though... I figured hed frustrate him, i think he kos Pavlik in a rematch now as i think his power has improved.
If you're going to try and post a comeback, at least be accurate. Blood testing up until 7days prior to fight w/ unlimited urine up until fight night and an immediate blood/urine test after the fight in the dressing room. :deal All Floyd has to do is get his urge back! Instead of fighting security guards, his baby mama, and threating children for $0, he should just sign the damn contract and face as he called him "a one-dimensional philipino midget who will be easy work for $50mil!"
