I don't know if this has been a topic but 154 has been a crazy division as far as titles changing hands. Charlo recently lost to Harrison but is getting a rematch Williams just beat Hurd and who knows if Hurd stays or goes up Mungia to many lost to Hogan Some championship level 147 fighters moved in with Brook and Vargas (would actually really like that fight) You have a former champ in Trout floating around you have Hogan then there are a lot of fighters im not familiar with in the boxrec top 15 with some flashy records Many people ruled out Harrison and Williams based on their losses in previous shots at the title. Are they flukes? Does Harrison win the rematch with Charlo? Does Charlo eventually join his brother at 160? Will Mungia learn from the Hogan fight and improve? Also does he move up? Does Errol Spence go up for a title shot? What do you guys think
Munguia isn’t ready and I’m pretty sure they want to keep the belt while they wait for him to get better. I don’t rate Jermell Charlo, I think Julian Williams can beat them all if he has the same fitness and mentality as he did on Saturday night.
Charlo , Williams or errol Spence . Hell even Brian castano can take it . At this point it's up for grabs and everyone sees this they are gonna try to take it . 154 is an unruled division that anyone can take
Nobody. Williams will probably have the most belts, but the WBO and WBC ones will still be on someone else's waist. Don't expect another unification within the year.
You'd think that PBC learned their lesson here with Jermell and Hurd. I would make Williams Vs Charlo/Harrison in a heartbeat.
The division is very shallow at the moment and will likely remain that way until well past next spring. Here are the current top ranked 69kg amateurs: https://yourboxingclub.com/list/world-welterweight-69kg/ I don't see any saviors there who aren't either getting on in years or unlikely to make the stylistic transition into the pros all that gracefully.
