Well as far as I can tell the Saunders fight was on the level and if that's the tone for his future fights then I am happy. It would go a long way to legitimizing his victories.
I had Canelo beating Lara in a very close fight... he landed the better punches, and he did a slightly better job of controlling the real estate... I am not saying that Lara ran... but he used too much movement considering the (low) number of meaningful punches he landed I scored the first Canelo/Golovkin fight a draw
yea, he is a stud for demanding Lara... and all that crybaby nonsense from Golovkin fans was ridiculous... Canelo made them look stupid when he fought Golovkin in his very first fight at middleweight... he could have taken 1-2 fights to adjust, like everyone else does what about Nonito Donaire going after Inoue, at this point in his career? balls of steel
Surely allowing yourself to rehydrate to whatever you please but not letting anybody else do it to you is what's hypocritical.
He lost against an old GGG, with paid judges to steal GGG's win away from him. He got absolutely spanked by Mayweather. Where is his signature win, where he has dominated an elite talent? There isn't one. If he wanted to show greatness, he should have put on a clinic against GGG, but he didn't. He edged his way to dodgy decisions. Don't give me wins against Callum Smith and Kovalev as evidence. We all know Smith was weight-drained and Kovalev was so past-it, it wasn't even funny.
I think he's training to become more a 1 punch showstopper than an guy that flurries combinations. It seems to me that he's been hitting the weights a lot and working on his explosive counters. Frankly I'm not entirely sure that is a good thing given Canelo's traditionally somewhat low output, but what's undeniable is that he's hitting like a tank lately. Some freak power.
Yeah, I watch his training videos a lot (he's great to learn from) and he's definitely been working on his one-punch power. Ironically, he's doing the same sort of drills GGG used to do - although GGG never really needed to do them once he found out he can KO real tough guys with one or two shots (I'd have liked to see him focus more on what Canelo used to focus on, which was setting up punches with feints, not the jab - ironic, again, I know). Remember how everyone started theorising that Kovalev's power started dwindling because he was struggling making weight? Or that Tito seemed more devastating once he moved up to 154? I think that something similar may have happened with Canelo, because since moving up above MW, he's seemed to have much better stamina, have been quicker on his feet and be a much bigger puncher. Steroids aside, I think the lack of having to make weight has been the main reason for this - and without the stress of cutting weight and being ready to drop the right amount of liquid, I think he's been focusing on well-rounding his game more. Lots of his old weaknesses have started to abscond.
Always said as soon as canelo can stop all the sneaky nonsense & just get in there & fight he can be one of the very best...Hopefully leaving Oscar will be the making of him?!
BcS8 is the one who is triggered lol.. I'm fairly certain Canelo doesn't give two flying beeps about his opinion or anyone of his haters for that matter. Lmao
