By which round did you think Froch was in trouble?

Trouble as in outclassed, not necessarily looking to get stopped. I thought Froch got beat up a good deal in this fight, actually.

When that wards jab kept landing at will.
And the left hook.

 

As soon as the fight was announced. Showtime tried to convince us that Ward was the matador to Froch's bull.

Truth is Ward was both.

Froch was neither.

Froch is a good fighter but Ward has top-level fighter pedigree.

 

In the grand scheme of things, I think it's a stretch to state that Froch took a real beating. He shipped a lot of punches, yes, but no I wouldn't class it as a beating etc.

For me, a one sided points decision for Ward, who landed a fair bit on Froch who had little answer to get into the fight. For me, it doesn't sit in the beating up or total schooling categories, just a very clear win by a superior boxer with better tools.

 

He held his own until about round 6, but God bless him, even after it was hopeless, he tried like hell the whole fight. I wish every fighter would do that, and after this fight, I consider him a true warrior.

 

I thought round 4 after Froch had a decent third, (though I gave it to Ward) Ward came out and dominated the 4th. I knew then the fight was over save a one punch ko from Froch. I completely agree with the rest of your post. He didn't shell up and kept trying the whole fight. A lot of fighters don't do that. (See Haye, Abraham)

Well before the fight, the face to face with Grey and then the fact that Froch seemed confident and relaxed in the lead up told me that Carl was struggling mentally and was trying to build himself up and fool himself. I knew that when it came to the crunch he would feel the pile of nerves crashing down on him, we saw how nervous he looked before the fight and how stiff he was from the start, he was trying too hard. The first round showed the difference in class and it was obvious that it was a mismatch. As the fight went on Froch started to relax a little bit more which is why he looked better towards the end of the fight.

 

When i think in the second could be the third when Ward got Carl

with a very goodhook and kinda buckled him for a moment

 

When they signed the fight. Froch did better then I thought he would.
