By Michael Lieberman: Former two-time heavyweight champion Chris Byrd (40-4-1, 21 KOs), now campaigning as a light heavyweight, is reportedly interested in a fight with undefeated super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe according to the British Boxing News website. Wow I never really took Chris that serious about him going to Light Heavy. He is looking pretty good.

    Good for him.

You know what, Byrd's always been a stand up guy. I'm glad he's finally moved down in weight, although I think it would have been wise to do this a few years back, quite frankly.

I wish him all the best and am actually looking forward to seeing him at light heavyweight. Should be interesting.

The way I see it, the drop in weight will either help him because he'd me rejuvinated, sharper, quicker, and facing smaller men or it could hurt him because instead of facing slow, plodding heavyweights, he'd be facing guys that wouldn't be at a huge speed disadvantage. Let's hope it's the former.

He's talking about how he looks. Not how he will fight.
