Man, this is strange to think of! I think we should at least see Byrd fight once in his light heavyweight run before we try to forecast results of fights between him and the elites of the division.

My money would be on Bryd after a warm up fight or two to get used to the weight difference in the ring, before facing Calzaghe. I feel he's pretty smart, he's not a natural Heavyweight to begin with, by going down two weight classes he will take less punishment and make more money in the process, it's a very good move for him, you cant make any money fighting at Heavyweight, unless your fighting Wlad in Germany, and I dont see him doing that anytime soon again.

No, he won't. This a completely mistaken assumption.

He has already aged. Did you see his fight against Povetkin?

Byrd's loss of speed and reflexes will be all the more evident at 175 against guys that are quicker than heavyweights.

I really think Calzaghe would dominate Byrd at this stage.

I think Byrd's biggest problem in the Povetkin fight was his lack of stamina, he got tired and started laying on the ropes

    Calzaghe UD

The thing with Byrd is that, although he's moving down in weight and is now going to be faced against smaller men than he's used to facing, those smaller men are going to be faster than him which is something he's not used to. As emanuel_augustus pointed out, his reflexes and stamina are fading. I see Calzaghe having success by swarming him, outworking him throughout the fight, and generally keeping him on the defensive.

We need to see how he goes at 175 first.
