personally I believe Haye today would be easily out boxed by prime Chris Byrd. Everybody are giving so much props to english champ, so I'm wondering who will dispose him. Prime Byrd would outwork him with easy..

    Whats Your opinion ?

I think it would be a very good and close fight to be honest. Chris was a good fighter with fairly fast hands and good technical ability. He did however often leave his hands low when attacking and against a hard hitting, fast handed counter puncher like Haye would be dangerous.

If he doesn't get caught with a KO, Byrd would win a UD imo. Haye isn't anywhere near as active as Byrd, although he does have very good timing and power. Similar things can be said with Haye facing Chambers or Adamek. These are the kinds of fighters that can disrupt Haye's timing because they are fast and mobile, not to mention all have high ring IQs. Unfortunatly, it appears as though we'll never know as Haye is content on making defenses against local level competition.

Great fight... tough call... Byrd was real quick & slick in his day.

I'd lean toward Haye. If Ike could catch Byrd with those bombs against the ropes, Haye could likely do the same.

This would be a very interesting battle. These two together would be like watching two middle weights go at it.

I give Byrd a good chance to win. He was KO'ed once in four fights with the Klitschkos and Tua, so there is every chance he can go 12 with Haye. Haye overestimates himself and that could cost him against a slick fighter like Byrd.

Bryd would probably have the power to wobble haye and he had good speed and very good defence and chin. But haye has massive power good speed and can counter punch - i think id give the edge to Chris Byrd to be honest might just be a bit too tricky and haye wouldnt have his massive speed advantage

I know who Chris Byrd is. Haye? He did nothing at HW except for running his filthy mouth and displaying pathetic cowardice. Byrd would have mauled him in his better days.... in my simulated fight)))

haye's never been outboxed, the only way to beat him is by bringing the fight to him and going for the stppage.

Yep, that's the thing. Haye is unproven as a HW. Next to someone like Byrd, he looks down right green in this division.

    That's what he said.

Byrd was KO'd once in those four fights, which was by Wlad.

He's never fought anyone of Byrd's calibre.... And might never do.

Byrd had a very sturdy chin also, so Hayes chance of winning by one big punch would be somewhat reduced.
