Why dont you both explain what Froch did then? Wharton beat world rated Nardiello who went on to become a SMW world champ, Galvano who was a former SMW world champ and still world rated. Whartons wins over F C Smith and Storey were good wins. When Wharton was right at the end of his career he took a prime undefeated Reid to a close decision, and I think Reid was a better SMW than Froch, but that is just my opinion. Froch has never beaten a SMW world champ or someone who went on to become. Pascal did nothing at SMW and didnt look good at the weight at all and wasnt a top SMW. Taylor was 1-2 in his last 3 fights coming in and did nothing at SMW. Dirrell hasnt done much at SMW, his biggest win was Oganov and many felt Dirrell beat Froch Kessler coming off a loss with double vision beat Froch Abraham has done nothing at SMW and was coming off a loss. Johnson in his 40s was 0-5 in his last 5 world title fights, was only ever a journeyman at SMW and has lost more at SMW than he has won and has no big wins at the weight. Just because Wharton didnt beat SMWs Benn and Eubank, doesnt mean he couldnt beat Froch, it was a different era and if the eras not too strong, fighters that wouldnt do well in a previous era can be world class in a weak era.
