She probably stepped down because she was becoming a distraction to the sport. Her cards are the reason for the backlash she got, not the *****s and Rafael. If she wasn't blind, there would be no reason for her to step down.

If you had big money on the UD I don't think you'd be defending her

Plus scoring the fight for Bradley against Pacquiao, fuk indefinite leave she should never be allowed to judge a fight again

Unfortunately for her, that's quite an important skill to have for someone in her position.

She stepped down because she's, at best, incompetent.

yer pretty much this... almost everyone in the media and journos including ring side boxers themselves all scored it for floyd? you have to ask, how many people have to be "wrong" before that single "right" person considers she may have got it wrong...

im sure CJ ross is not in the same boat as Pythagoras

Her license was going to expire at the end of the year anyway. Judges are not supposes to take front action, she's now been involved with two judging controversy by the two biggest names in the sport. I'm sure even if they renewed her judging license they would keep her away from big fights to avoid the backlash and controversy. She's over 60+ and no one agrees with her cards, time to hang it up.

Well in Bradley Pacquiao all 3 judges scored the fight 115-113. Ross and Duane Ford both scored it 115-113 in favor of Bradley. So I ask you, should Duane Ford "never be allowed to judge a fight again" too?

In Canelo vs Mayweather, CJ Ross scored 10 of the 12 rounds exactly the same as one of the other judges (Dave Moretti). This is actually what the commisions like to see.

The backlash and controversy has been because of *******s who thought Pacquiao beat Bradley, and *****s who thought Mayweather beat Canelo.

*******s and *****s are the source of this controversy. Both fights were close, it was just that *******s and *****s thought their fighter won the fight. I thought Bradley won and that Mayweather won a close decision, so I don't see what the problem is. It's just butt hurt *****s. What can you do?

i had pac by 2 rounds aswell... and i watched that fight at a bar filled to the brim with pacquiao fanatics could not hear a word of commentary and even with every pac fan in the room cheering for every blocked shot he threw i still scored pacquiao only ahead by 2 rounds... and to be honest i felt that whole fight was rather easy to score..

A lot of people say things in public to help the subject (in this case, Ross) save some face. Behind closed doors the Nevada Athletic Commission could have very well told her they were going to fire her or she at the least wasn't going to have any high profile jobs anymore. I am guessing they gave her a chance to step away "gracefully" as opposed to be fired for her inability to judge a boxing match. Additionally, she could have been warned for her past fights.

Also, she could have made a ton on the majority decision which was listed at +2200 (100 to win 2200) and have no reason to work anymore.

Bolded text is inconsistent with Kizer's statements on Monday. She voluntarily wrote an email to the commision saying she's taking time off from boxing. That's all that happened. Anything else is pure speculation. There's no report that she was fired or even pressured to step away "gracefully". There was no reason for her to be fired, as she had 10 of the 12 rounds exactly the same as Dave Moretti.

It was just my opinion, and the next line after the text you bolded shows WHY I thought this could have been the case. It certainly wouldn't be the first case of a business/organization/government etc allowing the outed person to do so with dignity and remain to say positive things about them in public. It really does happen all the time in many facets of life.

The question I asked in this thread though is WHY. Like the actual reasons why. You said she MIGHT have been fired, or pressured to walk away "gracefully" but you don't know that. I don't even believe that happened.

I think ALL that happened was CJ Ross herself sent an email to the commision saying voluntarily that she is taking time off. Not because of the commision pressured her to resign, but solely because *****s and guys like Dan Rafael kept carrying on and bitching and whining about how she needs to be banned from boxing. Get it?
