He spent the first half of his career at 35, and has been vocal about his weight struggles, so it´s not surprising given his age.
Bit of a shame that he didn´t get a single title defense in.

I can't read a word of Spanish but I see Masanori Rikiishi in the post so I'm happy if he gets his deserved title fight.

Hasn’t he vacated to fight Leigh wood instead? He’s just beaten Cordina and Warrington, why defend against a tough Mexican nobody knows in the uk for peanuts when you have another opportunity at another world title in the uk for more money against Leigh wood.

if cacace doesn’t fight wood or for another world title then he will look a bit silly

I guess Cacace determined a non-title fight with Woods in UK is worth more than a risky world title defense against unknown Nunez in UK.

I'd like to thank Cacace for this, because he practically insured a hair raising and blood curdling, Holy ****!!! chant inducing Fight of the Year candidate with Sugar Nunez vs. Masanori Rikishi. Also a drained Cacace, for as much as I like him, probably wouldn't have seen the final bell against either one of them. Granted I picked Cacace to beat Cordina, because he was a stylistic mismatch and Joe was drained himself.

What makes it great (for me) is that Rikiishi had just transferred to Ohashi Gym last fall, so there's a good chance Ohashi will pay for the purse to make it happen in Japan along with the Takei match around May. With Inoue fighting in Vegas next after this week he can't put Takei together under Inoue, but he certainly could use another world title challenge under Takei in May.

And the ticket would be way more affordable than Inoue matches too (not that I regret it, the ringside was well worth it)
