A guy I know from my gym used the regular stuff. He also started watching what he ate on top of excersing at fight practice so I dont know if his losing weight was because of eating healthy or the pills. Id say eating healthy... I dont personally believe in short cuts medicines or miracle drugs.
It's a load of rubbish. What "helps" if you want to lose weight is a calorie deficit. You accomplish that by eating less, and increasing metabolism. Increasing metabolism is done by eating frequently and working out.
The only thing fat burners do is give you energy. Whether it be natural or human made. As RDJ said, calorie deficit is the way to lose weight. If you want to gain weight, its calorie surplus. But you dont need to eat 5000 calories a day like idiot bodybuilders do. You eat 300-500 more calories a day.
One of the new guys on my rowing team was taking this stuff trying to lose weight. A couple days ago during the workout his heart rate starting going nuts, he was up at like 220 beats per a minute on a steady state workout and it took him at least 15 minutes to get back to normal. I'm guessing it was caused by hydroxycut, so I'd say stay away from it if your gonna be working out alot.
I wonder what is actually in the caffeine free version? Probably just green tea and some other crap that doesnt really do much. Ephedra has been banned a while. Stimulants will work but that isnt exactly a healthy way to loose weight. Whenever Ive lost weight quickly (either from being sick or from anxiety and sleeping problems) it always came back quick so I was right back where I started. Recently Ive lost 10-15 pounds slowly and my weight has stabilized and it hasnt come back. Its much healthier and more likely to stay down if you loose it at a more gradual pace.
thanks everyone, ya i always see these commercials for it, and i was just curious, ive been running alot n working out too. i also started using those, but they dont really do anything so far.
Less caffeine means less of an effect. Caffeine is a natural directic. High doses can increase your metabolism and resting rate causing you to loose a nominal amount of weight depending on your work out regime. Ephedra was banned over the counter because in some rare cases it caused fibrilation murmurs and heart attacks. To be honest there placebo`s. Get in the gym eat less but better calories. The weight will fall off according to how much your burn and replace.
