Cain v Fedor V JDS V Overeem

Overeem doesn't have the sturdiest chin and JDS has big power in both hands. A knockout for JDS is always a possibility.

 

He didn't have, his neck is about 5 times as big now. He's been rocked in K-1, but by people with pretty murderous power. Agree it's MMA and JDS has good power, but I'd only give him a 20% chance in the fight.

 

they would be all great fights. by imo fedor would come out at top with overeem 2nd.

UFC PR syndrome. Its quite common. Symptoms normally start with hype followed by ball licking.

 

There is nobody in the world who can a) consistently take Velasquez down b) consistently stop Velasquez from taking them down and c) control Velasquez from a top position !!!

All that considered , id say that makes the guy pretty unique :deal

And what im saying that is unique about Velasquez is the strength and agility of the man , for a HW !!! , there is nothing different about Velasquez's skill set that makes him a stand out , yes he's well rounded yes but like you say no more well rounded than Overeem or Fedor on the contrary less so !!! its the strength , speed , agility and stamina that makes Cain Velasquez so different , have you ever seen a HW move like Velasquez with his wrestling ability and strength and not get tired ??? :huh

It doesnt matter how good your stand up is or your ground game (particularly off your back because thats where your gonna end up when fighting Velasquez) when you face a guy who can push a pace faster than your conditioning will allow and can take you down when ever he feels its neccesary , its all irrelevant !!! , yes you can catch somebody like that early and stun them , but you better hope you catch him good because the likelyhood is , your not gonna get another chance to do so , and once the space is closed and Velasquez gets a hold of you , your going to the mat one way or the other !!!

To say Fedor would armbar Velasquez from the bottom is a pretty silly thing to say , how can you pin your hopes on an armbar when a guy like Velasquez has shown a dominant top game like we have never seen before , he changes position so often and so quickly you can never even attempt a submission let alone secure an arm , his relentless striking and wrestling from the top makes his top game IMO the most formidable in MMA :deal i really dont see Fedor catching Velasquez with a submission from the bottom , for me the relentless nature of Velasquez G&P and his wrestling ability completley negates that eventuality ...............

Velasquez is unique , and i say that because we have never seen a dominant force like him , he is the best athlete in the sport of MMA and is probably P4P the most dominant wrestler the sport has ever seen , and he's a HW , thats why he's unique , men that big do not move like him , nore do they have a gas tank like him , i mean its not up for debate , he's the only one of his kind .............

That isnt the assumption i made mate , i genuinley thought i read it somewhere that Dos Santos received his Black belt from the Noguerra bros last year !!! , but clearly after looking into it i didnt !!! :huh

For what its worth , coming from Brazil , by default you have some sort of a ground game (generally) whether your a striker or not , but that isnt why i stated JDS is a black belt !!!

 

Please state in technical terms , what of the above is not true !!!!

Relentless ground game often equates to a reckless ground game, as Sonnen has found out in the past. Velasquez hasn't ever had to pour it on on the ground against a guy with especially dangerous jits. Nog could have been a test in that area but it never reached that area. It's a lot harder to look dominant scrambling on top against someone as dangerous as Fedor, Werdum, Overeem or even Mir. If he dominates a dangerous jits guy like that from the top, I might reevaluate.

 

GSP is the best athlete and wrestler in mma and imo p4p no1!

 

Velasquez struggles, with Kongo, sparks a faded Nog (whose chin is nowhere near what it used to be) and hammers the clearly limited Lesnar (very impressively admittedly, I didn't see it coming, mainly due to not being that impressed with Cain before) and he's 'unique'?!?

I just don't get it. A win over JDS (unlikely IMO) might go some way towards affirming his position near the top, but 'unique'? Sorry Win, but he just doesn't look that special to me :good
