Another post on the above, but looks like this is gathering some momentum... cal smith did an interview with Sky stating he wants the fight for The British & will then vacate.

To which Rocky has confirmed he wants it too, bit of tooing & froing between the two & what looks like Rocky has agreed terms to the fight . I think this is massive news for the British fight scene if it's correct. A genuine 50/50 of two unbeaten , world ranked prospects doesn't happen too often.

Be interesting to see what happens if smith does win and then vacate, with the likes of Blackledge, Brophy, Markham & Smyle all sat waiting in the wings..

    Exciting times..!

I doubt this fight will happen anything soon. C smith is pretty much guaranteed a shot at groves vs jack winner at some point down the line. Can't see him risking that to settle a score vs Rocky who is well ranked and will probably look to get himself a mando at the wbo/Ibf

can see them maybe having a fight with the winner to get the winner of the degale / groves II fight assuming groves beats jack?

would like it to happen but can't see them fighting for "only" a british title this year with potential bigger fights coming up in 2016

That was my thinking initially... But it looks as though things are moving along... So makes me think it will happen. And one good thing to come of it, whoever loses will of lost yes on the domestic scene - but to a fighter who will almost certainly fight for a world title within 2-3 fights, what ever the outcome.

I'd say a loss in this fight is about as harmful as Degale's loss to Groves - not very becase the winners talent was known.

I quality fight rate both fighters though I think if Callums hands don't go in fight he will win as a level above though Rocky is better than many think. I think they will fight for British and it will Also be a world eliminator for the WBC belt, bet Rocky suddenly shoots up their rankings next time they are out !

Tweets the other day coming from Callum + his brothers, Fielding as well as the likes of Bellew suggest these two are getting it on... also a date in the diary.

Swifty and Liam both tweeted that there happy Callum has "got the fight he was after", Fielding saying he wanted it too and Callum replying "about time" ... then a few other bits and pieces coming from either party.

Big fight for Liverpool and one I'm looking forward to seeing, hopefully it definitely comes off.

Hearn has a date at the Echo on the 7th of November according to an interview he did with kugan the other day. Hopefully it gets announced soon.
