You know I thought Plant would have improved more by now based on where I felt his potential was a couple years ago but seems like his ceiling isnt gonna be as high as I thought.

I kinda thought he was the one to give Canelo real competition... maybe I was wrong.

He looked kind of tired after 8 rounds. His mouth opened more and he threw with less authority. Truax got more brave when it seemed plant was losing steam

I agree. He's basically a crossfit guy who got steered into boxing at an early age. He spends way too much time mugging and admiring his own work, and as an athlete you don't want to be *too* self aware. Roy Jones also fought like that and got away with it, but Plant obviously isn't at that level.

Plant is very fast with his combinations, very good at feinting to disguise shots or occupy his opponents, very good at moving around the ring, very good at keeping the right distance when he needs to. He has so much at his disposal but for a seeming hesitance to close the show when he can.

Berto was no better than Truax. Several of Floyd's opponents were far more faded than Truax.

Floyd avoided prime Mosley, waiting until Shane was 40.

Canelo will walk Plant down and KO him. Plant doesn't have enough power to make Canelo even stop in his tracks much less go backwards.

Yeah. It’s weird to think a guy’s stock could go down after sweeping every round of a fight, but here we are.

I think I’m not going out on a limb in saying he gets smorked by both Canelo and Benavides.

No, he got Canelo to drain down to Floyd's catchweight 152.

Unlike Floyd not being able to make the agreed-upon 145 for the JMM fight, Canelo did make Floyd's catchweight of 152. But Canelo looked weight-drained at the weigh-in.

I keep saying Benavidez is the only meaningful fight for canelo. David’s clearly the only real competition at 168 and the light heavyweights are way too risky. This fight needs to happen
