Ive lowkey been feeling Plant is actually very subtly punchy in the last year or so. Im wondering if his poor performances are more due to underlying erosion of his abilities, moreso than an indicator of what he was when he fought Canelo.

Will have a better picture within the next few fights probably.

A few years ago all the commentators would be pretending Plant was winning throughout the entire fight, or whoever the house fighter was.

The corrupt judge was doing his part in the potential steal. They know they will get called back for more work if they give it to the house fighter. Sometimes its just too obvious, like with Adylide Byrd in the first Ggg vs Canelo fight.

The worst stoppage I have ever seen in Charlo v Cornflake. Charlo clearly struggled to crack "The Corn Code" and was consistently getting clowned in the process.

Haven’t watched the fights more than Twitter clips, but I faded Plant never having watched Resendiz purely on the basis that a hungry Mexican fighter should not be +1400.

indictment on Charlo that I had to scroll 22 pages to get a grasp on the fight… how far the brothers have fallen.

Caleb Plant need to be retired like Josh Taylor or Tony Yoka.

Jermall Charlo is far from his prime too.

Lose to Rosendiz struggle with Trevor Gumby. Canelo and Benavidez resumes just took a huge hit.

I had some work early in the day and couldn't watch the fights. I figured both Plant and Charlo would win easily. I guess I was wrong.

Plant has been fighting 1 time a year since 2021. That kind of inactivity is going to stunt the growth of any fighter.

Look at other PBC fighters like Gary Russell Jr who never reached his full potential because he was so inactive.

I figured I'd go ahead and repost this.:sisi1

Resendiz fights a hell of a lot like Alvarez and Benavidez, who both beat the **** out of Plant and against taller fighters Resendiz seems to excel. My one concern was the move up in weight, but then I remembered that the Hurd and Garcia fights were at middleweight and not light middleweight, also Caleb didn't have the advantage of being a southpaw that Garcia had, who Resendiz had success against but couldn't avoid that straight left. So my last remaining concerns disappeared right before the fight. Especially when you add in the fact that Plant has never been anything even close to resembling special. Seriously, who has this man beaten to get him the reputation he has? Jose Uzcategui? Anthony Dirrell? Porky Medina? Vincent Feigenbutz? The corpse of Caleb Truax? You gotta be ****ing kidding me! That about as padded and pedestrian as it gets, anyone who a modicum of skill at cutting the ring off, beats the brakes off of this low output wannabe slickster fraud. He's one of the most brutally overrated fighters in the sport, mainly by the Canelo fanboys.

I mentioned this last night: WTF was wrong with Plant's right hand? He rarely threw a right even within a combination. He totally leaned on his left all night with jabs and hooks to the body. He had nothing to instill fear in Resendiz.
