Right now. Can 37 years old Ward defeat Caleb Plant at 168? Ward has only 15 days camp for fairer fight.
Why do you wanna matchup a man that hasn't fought professionally in 4 years against a man that's younger and in his physical and likely skilled prime? How fair is that?
Not fair at all but if he's gonna run round pretending to be champion at SMW he has to be able to face anyone who can make the weight, even if it is a retired legend. Obviously Ward smokes him.
The chances of Ward making 168 is slim to none! Tbh I'd be surprised if Ward could make 175 with that short a camp. Even now though Ward would have way too much game for Plant - at least based on current evidence.
Back when Ward returned to boxing after his layoff/injury/lawsuit, he was a LtHW. Said he doubts he could make 168 then.
When Ward came back from a layoff 5 years ago, he said himself he doesn't think he can go to 168. HIs body outgrew it.
What proof do you have that he's shot? I don't like Ward, but he stays in shape and his style would age well. It's not like the guy is ancient or anything - dudes only 37. Making 168 might be a problem, but whatever weight he can make he beats Plant at.
beat me to it. Ward is now shot? Hmm... well, he also keeps trying to claim Floyd was shot when he beat Pac
He hasn't fought in years and would have to cut off a leg to make 168. He also said in an interview that his body broke down from injuries and he could no longer perform in the ring and it was the reason why he retired.
