Apparently he needed 2 bogus point deductions to escape with a majority decision over some trashcan from Uganda.

Truax was a -6500 favorite. Time to hang em up.

tbf he was never some touted, coddled amateur star groomed for world-level success. He was originally just a Midwestern can-crusher who ended up overachieving for a little while.

Truax has had a pretty good run, considering he is not that good at all. Definitely an overachiever. Fair to say that he caught DeGale at the right time.

Shame for him he never won a belt, I thought he beat DeGale first time around. Anyway I hope he has a happy retirement.

Truax did win the first fight with DeGale and in the process DeGale's IBF title. DeGale won it back in the rematch.

Always have a soft spot for hard working, if unspectacular fighters like Truax.

Solid gatekeeper who managed to win a belt, which happens sometimes.

After seeing him get outboxed by a decrepit version of Jermain Taylor, I thought he would fade into obscurity.
