On the other hand there is absolutely no rush with canelo, he is locked in 154 for a very long time, he is to short and stocky to be succesfull above 154, allthough I can see him capturing an belt at 160 but thats about it.
He cant go down cant go up, career 154'er.

I don't know why some people don't believe Canelo is the goods. I think he's incredibly skilled and mature for his young age. I don't see anyone beating him at 154 and that includes the likes of Cotto and the other guys mentioned on this thread. I'd love to see him fight Sergio Martinez in the next year or so.... Martinez is the only guy I see beating Canelo right now at 154.

I think they all have a chance, but the funny thing the names you mention last being over the hill are the ones I see winning a more comfortable and clear win against Canelo than the others.

Well because he isnt American. Isnt it obvious??

Canelo-Martinez wont be able to meet at a suitable time for both but imagine the Martinez of today vs the Canelo we will have in 2-3 years. I think thats when he will be prime. I mean the kid is barely 21 for gods sakes. He already has more skills and ring maturity than the majority of the champs out there. The potential with this kid is PBFesque.

This is an ATG in the making. I can see him becoming one of Mexicos top fighters.

1.Carlos molina Molina is good, but coming forward and trying to counter canelo who is much faster and hits harder would not be a good plan, canelo Takes a UD here.

    2.Vanes Martirosyan Canelo TKO

3.Austin trout have no idea who this guy is.

4.delvin roudriguez LMAO so people can say Canelo is feasting on more WW's...

5.Powell wolak went life and death over a guy who was supposed to be a keep busy fight for him who had never fought past 148...Canelo by KO it would be an easy target for Canelo when Pawl will try and make it an In fight coming in getting hard with a hard counter..

6.Angulo good fight but, which is 50/50 for me... but the most likely outcome I see is Canelo UD. Canelo is patient and won't be baited to a war.. but the fight is 50/50 and is the one I'd be the most worried about.

7.Lara early rounds will be 50/50, with Lara having his chance to test canelo's ability to take a fast shot from Lara that he doesn't see because of speed but as the fight Progresses and canelo gets stronger in the later rounds where LARA fades, it could be lights out for Lara with canelo's great timing, accuracy and combinations.. plus power....Lara better hope he comes in with stamina, because if he doesn't he is getting killed in the later rounds I see the most likely outcome Canelo BY TKO in the later rounds, and both of them Being GBP it could be a great fight right after LARA picks up a title or challenges for Canelo's title.

I understand everyones hate for canelo I voiced my hate toward GBP and WBC for awarding Canelo with a Title, it just made canelo a target for the hardcore haters instead of building him up slowly on HBO they chose the faster route to get more money in their pockets sooner, GREDDY ****ing Promoters, but its a buisiness and Canelo sells out Arena in California and is new to the USA... he has the Potential to be in the elite of Mexican fighters, with what he has shown us at such a young age of 21. Boxing afficianados keep your eyes on this guy as he will slowly prove all the haters wrong with spectacual shwoings, and the best thing he is not even prime and the way he is being moved up is amazing, slowly but surely he will be taking out the bigger guys in the division and getting better with every fight.

 Dude, he was given the belt more for the WBC to make money off him.
And it does matter. For you to outright say it doesn't says quite a bit about you. But at least now I know not to take you serious at all. :deal

    good read here...

most assuredly Canelo would outwork Lara for a UD. Lara workrate has to be one of the lousiest of all his cuban partners.... and he seems so 1-dimensional and dependent on a set distance in order to feel comfortable to throw his predictable 1-2.

    So true.

Those 1-2's will not work on canelo, Canelo will parry or weave from them then come to him with a huge Right hand Straight that could easily be Lights out For LARA, and if he does it in the later rounds where Lara is dying trying to get air... KO.

the combinations, power, and counters from Canelo will be to much for Lara especially with his stamina problems, he is only fresh the first 4 rounds LMAO are you serious?

Lara had no prpblems with the workrate of Williams now did he? Williams is much more battle tested and proven then Canelo as well.

everyone is in agreement that PW was not the same that night that fought in other fights.... PW seemed to be slapping Lara not with any power...

Canelo is a totaly different moster. Who IMO hits harder then the PW that showed up that night... and 1-2's against PW were brillaint someone who has just KO'ed by the same move....

Anyways canelo is totally different... PW had no defense no weaving just coming forward and slapping Lara...

Canelo isn't a monster at all. I like him, and I think he's going to get better. But he's not there yet. And lets not act like Canelo is a defensive wiz. He got tragged by Matthew Hatton WAAY too often and clean. Canleo vs. Lara is much more a 50-50 fight then many think. Lara is also more technically sound thren canelo. He had a great amatuer background.

It's ridiculous how overrated Ortiz and Canelo have become based on having belts. I mean, in today's boxing, with 5-6 belts per div?

It was satisfying watching PW walk into the same punch over and over. I would have liked to see Lara pushed harder by PW but really all he had to do was throw 1-2s and sure enough PW would be at the end of that left hand. haha

Hey man that is just my opinion cause I believe he is, also He didn't respect hatton at all and got caught all the time trying to catch him.. Rhodes who he did respect CANELO completely shut him out... The most legit win and greatest test of canelo and he completely dominated rhodes... did not allow him to do anything.

People have their opinions man, so do you... no need to commit suicide over other opinions lol..it's just a sport nothing ridiculous about having hardcore fans... HAHA
