A fight with Canelo or JCC is worth a lot more than GGG.
The likelihood of winning a fight with Canelo or JCC is also greater for Cotto. It is commonsense to look outside of Golovkin - who isn't a big draw yet. Golovkin needs Cotto, whereas Cotto does not need Golvkin at all.
