In the wake of Froch-Abraham, a number of posts have hinted that the consensus may still be that Bute is rated higher than the Cobra.

I for one feel Froch is quite far ahead of Bute where track record is concerned.

As resume and actual fights fought are the only true way to prove a fighters skills and capabilities, why do you feel Bute should be ahead of Froch/Ward etc?

In the past some have even had Bute in their pound for pound lists, which for me is an insult to many, many other boxers.

So enlighten me if you will...

Why do you rate Bute so highly?

People see Bute as a guy with high potential and I love him but I can understand if people rate guys like Froch & Ward higher. Bute really needs to prove why he's rated high as we know he's skilled but I want to see him tested more. To be fair to Bute, there's not much fighters out there for him to fight outside of the S6. Hopefully he faces the S6 winner but that'll take some time from now to happen.

Whoever rates Bute above anyone in the supersix is a fool. Bute hasn't done anything to be rated about anyone let alone Froch. These guys will try to argue that Bute beat Andrade and that's better than everyone the supersix can provide for eternity. That's the only logical reason they can bring up, what else is there to rate him above these guys?, nothing. Unless the desperation goes far enough to rate the Miranda(coming off losses to almost everyone worth mentioning) fight then you know you're discussing with morons.

this can be a good list. No Bute fan ranks him at #1. They say he is top3. In therms of skills he is neck to neck with Ward and in therms of resume he is close under Ward. In therms of resume I don`t rank Ward as #1. I think Kessler is as good as retired and the list will look like :

    1) Carl Froch
    2) Andre Ward
    3) Lucian Bute

This list will actualy mean something when these 3 will fight eachother.

Just take a peak at that thread :

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=271322

Right now I have the top 6 like this :

    1- Froch
    2- Ward
    3- Bute
    4- Dirrell
    5- Johnson
    6- Abraham

Kessler is just about retired from the latest reports so he's out of those standings...but I'd have him at #3 if he was coming back tomorrow.

Not retired, but out of Super Six.

I hope he comes back on Showtime and whoops Bute's ass.

I pretty much agree with all of this.

Its no use having great skills if you aren't fighting the best.

The posts I can't understand are the ones putting Bute in their top 10 pound for pound lists or 1/2 in their super middle ratings, makes no sense?

He's out of supersix, injuried, but not retired.

    Well technically Mayweather is retired.

I think some feel Kessler will return, and so they may still have him above Froch, and if they do, I can understand that.

Its not my own view, but I wont badger people to go about explaining it.

Its mainly the whole Bute mystique thing some folks have got going on.

Who puts Bute in the P4P rankings ? I never saw anyone do that among his fans:nono

Putting Bute lower than #5 at 168lbs is plain ridiculous though...
