...yet tons of people on here praise Ward for his craftiness & adaptability. I honestly thought Ward was going to go the safe route and stay on the outside against a guy who's used to fight down in the trenches. I guess the Oakland entourage was enough of a safe route already.

Stephan Larouche has tremendous video analysis skills. He trains Bute to rip his opponent a new one before the fight even begins, based on the subtleties he notices from the opponent's previous fights.

Bute's ranked higher than Froch because he's a better boxer.

He's faster, bigger, more powerful, better footwork, more intelligent in a ring, etc...

    Simple...no ?

Resume wise: Froch is the first. No question there.

But if we take account of the fights between them, it's more difficult to rank them.

    My current rankings is :

    1) Ward
    2) Froch
    3) Bute

Bute has plenty of good fighters but they aren't the elite level Froch fought. Kessler won a close decision to Froch. Kessler got dominated by Ward. So I would say Ward is the number 1. Then Froch based on his resume. Then I would put Bute who still has quality wins but not elite level like in the S6.

If I had to put the others:

    4) Kessler
    5) Dirrell
    6) Johnson
    7) Abraham
    8- Green

    That is my ranking.

It is not only who you fight but it is also how you fight. When you have the power , in only one fast chirurgical punch, to close the light, close the book... Andrade was considered one of the best chin in all categories and Bute, in the second fight with two piece of art, a short crisp hook, and a right on the target uppercut to the body, open the eyes at many peoples in the boxing world. Andrade said after this fight: - With Kessler, I was able to see the punches coming from , but not with Bute.
Miranda, with only one uppercut , was completely out in the third round . Better than Abraham,( three fall in fourth) and for whom who says, the glass-chin Miranda, the three Miranda's KOs have been given by three good punchers, Abraham, Pavlik and Bute. If Miranda was so glass- chinned, why Ward was not able to KO him?
For me, the way Bute wins over Andrade is the equivalent of the Ward's win over Kessler and if we look at the past of each, Miranda, Bika, Salem, Thobela, for Bute, Green and Bika for Ward, I can give a short advantage to Bute over Ward. Also with his undefeated score, I can put him before Froch.
But I have to agree that I have my bias, so I have no problems if americans put Ward first or british put Froch first.and change positions for this three.
We have seen a more disciplined and strategic Froch, it is good news, Froch have some big names at his credit but Pascal and Dirrell were both inexperienced; it was their first championship fight. For Taylor and Abraham, this two men passed in the upper division with hight ranking from their past glory but they were unable to make their marks, as true supermiddleweight.
The good news are that Bute signed with Showtime; Showtime have repair their mistake when they don't invited him in the Supersix. It is the the proof that Bute
wasn't avoided anybody and he want the big fight . So, soon, we can expect that we will see who is the best.
And as a Bute's fan, I want also see him in the big fight... Dirrell - Bute next March would be a good one...

With all due respect, if you put any Super 6er in the ring with Andrade and Miranda I think their footwork, intelligence and speed would look second to none.

I've stayed up for Bute's fights with Miranda and Andrade 2, saw his first Andrade fight also (not live) and know he has excellent skills. The left uppercut to the solar plexus he ended Andrade with was superb.

I feel, however, that outside that win, his record is padded, especially compared with that of Ward and Froch.

I dont agree on ranking someone based on how well they knock over fighters they are clearly better than, that doesnt work for me.

However, its clear we are going to disagree on the matter so we shall have to wait and see how Bute fares in the near future.

Never thought the Super 6 would cause such uncertainty in the division!
