The way Maidana beat up Broner, was obviously a great indicator of how he would beat up Floyd, that's why Floyd chose him, the challenge. Similar to how Guerrero & Ortiz got the fight with Floyd, they proved themselves by beating an equally overhyped "slickster" in Berto, and those 2 gave Floyd the toughest fights of his career.

WTF wanted to see Floyd with a guy who is faster, taller and throws a lot of punches, he has only been with a fast fighter just recently, Judah if I recall. Much rather see him with someone as slow as Maidana who got outboxed by every decent boxer he's fought and just recently beat up an overhyped lightweight.

maidana has improved so much since that fight to be fair, hes alot lot better at cutting the ring off. that been said mayweather still toys with him 12 round shut out
