Not exactly the most high-profile bout, but I'd love to see Calloway get his big name win. He's been pounding the roads for ages now and has always been game; Briggs may be arguably the worst linear champion ever, but he was a linear champion nonetheless and he's a name to which Calloway could be attatched forever. I think Calloway can outwork the Cannon and win a decision. But could be be cannon-fodder? :think
Briggs us huge and Calloway is a cruiserweight. They have relatively equal skills, but Briggs is just so much bigger. I really like Calloway and how he's been willing to take on anyone despite his small stature, but he's overmatched. I'd like nothing more than for him to get this win, but don't see it happening.
They do not have equal skills. Even at his age and stage of career, Shannon Briggs knows what it is to be a world class fighter. Rob Calloway is a B-level who made his record on the midwestern circuit. I say that not to denigrate Calloway, he's a great guy, but facts are he's not in Briggs' league. I'll be surprised if he makes past three rounds, unless he totally just runs away.
Briggs has a big punch and no defesne and no stamina. Calloway is a club fighter. Briggs is beyond passed it and if Calloway some how gets past the 1st 4 I give him some what of a shot.
