He is unquestionably up there. David price is edge of the seat as well. Amir Khan is another. AJ is another exciting fighter. We are lucky in the UK with how many good fights we get.

I like Johnson but the jury is still out on whether he's world level. His style is great to watch and his power is legit.

Thirded. He has heavy hands and is an exciting fighter, but he’s never done more than 9 rounds and got dealt with in 4 rounds when he stepped up to world level. I’m a fan and really like the lad. I’d love to see him in against any of the belt holders, but I feel that the likes of Bivol, Beterbiev (again), Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Browne and Barrera would beat him.

Sorry to sound negative. I think he’s number 1 domestically without a doubt.

I agree. It's a shame there's so much talent in the division. In normal circumstances he would stand a chance of picking up a strap.

Wouod love to see a wee round robin competition involving Johnson, Yarde, Bautsi and Burton. Would be brilliant fights all round.

Aye would be class but this is boxing anything that would be good wont happen haha.

Hearn is surely thinking about Buatsi v Johnson as a PPV though.

I agree he's exciting and it's a shame he's not more fans. Does anyone know why he was so inactive early in his career? I found this quote from then manager Naseem Hamed "he'll be world champion within three years", well after 3 years Johnson had fought just 6 times, the last being in Walsall Town Hall. What happened?

Hearn has mentioned Johnson vs Buatsi a lot and it's a great match-up and a fight I'd love to see. Matchroom obviously have big plans for Buatsi and a fight against Johnson is definitely a risk to derail those plans if it were to happen next. Personally I think we'll see Buatsi in at least one easier fight before they'd consider putting him in against Johnson.

Would like to see much more of Johnson over the next 2 years - exciting fighter who can bang. He needs to be active and in meaningful fights from now on.

Agree, he won't be winning a world title anytime soon but there's some great british level fights to be made. It's sad that we just accept the fact that certain fights probably won't happen between Queensbury and Matchroom unless its a Joshua vs Fury

I was lead to believe that Johnson’s career was slowed early on due to a hand injury?

agree with everyone here though, great fighter and look forward to seeing him fight more.

he was lined up to fight mikhalkin for the ebu which is about rought imo
