That's a shame, exciting fighter, had his "if only" moment, when he had Beterbiev hurt and didn't jump on him. Wish the bloke well, if he decides to stick to this. 37 isn't ancient nowadays
Good luck to him in retirement. Exciting fighter that carried a lot of power but unfortunately a lot of fights and a good few big fights at that just never materialised in a stop-start career
Johnson vs Smith Jnr would have been a fight of the year contender. A career full of what ifs, a shame but sounds like it's for the best.
A really exciting fighter, but he ran out of time and motivation. He can be proud of what he achieved in the sport.
3 fights since 2018 tells it's own story. He said a couple of times he really wanted to fight etc but it didn't happen. Something wrong somewhere but a decent if short career. File in the could have done more draw.
He never liked boxing, never watched it etc, seems like he done it for his old man and then lost his way. Worrying statement that anyway, his family / pals need to keep an eye on him…
Good luck to him. A shame he couldn't get one last half decent pay day where he was fit and focussed.
Was exciting to watch and had some power on him. Shame the Smith Jr fight fell through. The mental health talk is worrying - wish him all the best.
One of those fighters I always looked forward to seeing, I never expected him to get to the top of the pecking order, but could give a good account of himself against most. Fair play to him for retiring, if his heart and mind isn't in it anymore, it's a wise move.
