If you can't blame the the referee who can you blame?

Woodhall was ranked 12 in the world, still feeling like I haven't seen Simpson box.

Tough division, though, unless Alvarez vacates.

Tbh the ref should of stopped it when Steed was dropped, he was still down at the 8 count and didn't make a move till 9, it should of been waved off at that point.

To me that showed he was in full control of his senses and took the maximum time he was allowed.

You have to be getting up on the count of 8.
When you hear 8 you have to be seen to get up..Steed was a bit behind.
If the ref had of waved it off then, there could if been no arguments but obviously he didn't and if anything it's taken away from Simpson because of the perceived controversy. The fight was only going one way.

Not necessarily. Depends if the ref states a standing 8 count in the rules meeting beforehand.

Bad decision from the ref last night, I felt that was far too early and did neither fighter any favour. Steed deserved the chance to gain his composure and Simpson was denied the chance to get a proper stoppage which I think was on its way for sure.

Obviously as a big Barnsley fan I'm pleased he won and looked good In the process but another couple of rounds a KO or more justified stoppage would of been better.

Roll on Oakwell in May, it will be electric again

The ref isn't in the rules meeting.

That's the performance you want, though when fighting against the highest-ranked British super middleweight, outside of Zach Parker, which has to be the next fight, although like Willie Hutchinson, maybe campaigning at light heavyweight.

Euro title shot or Parker has to be next, unless he moves up for the Saudi money.
