    Yeah the catch and counter is smiths go to move. If anything it was actually a smart game plan by canelo and his team.

    He says it’s no excuse after making an excuse that he deliberately targeted his arm that’s why he could not throw his money punch with the left hand blah blah blah. From where I come from it’s bull****.

    How is that an excuse?
    His arm ballooned up. People talked about it.
    And now Smith explained what happened, took nothing away from Canelo and gave him praise for it.

    If the man wanted to make excuses, he could have easily blamed his short camp.

    There's that age-old saying in boxing 'take away your opponent's best punch'. Canelo just took that to another level. Also Smith presents his arms as targets because of his static shell defence. Might as well have painted targets on them.
