According to the article linked, Callum says Canelo was just doing his job and that he probably wouldn't even have won anyway. That's not really making an excuse, like Hector Camacho blaming a poor performance on a mean look his mother gave him in the locker room, or Deontay Wilder's 100 excuses for losing to Tyson Fury, or George Foreman saying he was going to knock Muhammad Ali out but got distracted by his friend the audience betraying him by rooting for Ali, or Roberto Duran's excuses for every loss, or Vasyl Lomachenko claiming the judges were bribed, etc.....Callum just said Canelo used his experience to take away one of Callum's weapons.

'Article headline and even first paragraph is framed as an excuse'. Indeed by the person who wrote it - a JOURNALIST - and seeing Smith is a boxer and not a sports reporter for The Sun, you've just admitted he didn't make any excuse and you were wrong.

Trump hasn't lost a case you fool. He's filed three and none have failed. What you're referring to are people who've filed their own individual cases on his behalf. Also, I don't care if he wins or not really, either guy winning ends up a lame duck president and is therefore totally hamstrung in terms of implementing policy. Pay attention to the details, it's evident from that statement and your reading of this article that you clearly lack this ability.

 

It's a colloquial insult and a nice one at that. Who cares what's in the Oxford dictionary when it comes to insults, they're hardly all included there in case you haven't noticed.
