Callum Smith and Nieky Holzken face to face

Not really face to face... 6'3" vs 5'11"

 

actually he is 6´0. but the size difference is very apparent. i have no clue how callum Smith makes super middle.

 

In a sense I'm disappointed.... But this gives a different kind of dynamic and vibe to this fight. a great crossover star Holzken(who I've long been a fan of) with a chance to do something truly spectacular. It's an inferior fight sure, but it's an intriguing and inspiring one nonetheless.

 

ELITE. He had just lost his world title in two razor thin fights. So he may have been slipping ever so slightly but still a top guy without a doubt.

 

Callum clearly got all the good Genes in the Smith family.

 

Holzken won the haircut event.

 

i dont think nieky has slipped. i just think doumbe and nabiev are very awkward and clever. nieky has always been a bit of a plodder and a slow starter. his style is actually quiete well suited for pro boxing, because he hits hard and is perhaps the best bodypuncher in kickboxing.
he slowly breaks down his opponents and is generally a real tough fighter. 12 round fights will suit his style imo.

 

Which is why I said ever so slightly. But I agree with your post for the most part. He, Spong and Saki were always guys I've wanted to see try their hand out in the sweet science. 2/3 is a decent bargain!

 

Spong has been randomly posting up in Mexico for the last year for some reason, and in a few days will be unifying the WBC and WBO versions of the Latino heavyweight title.

 

Taking the Billy Wright/Shannon Briggs route! Well, it's certainly a way to get ranked!

 

Imagine if this guy just roundhouse kicks Smith during the fight and then gives Joe Gallagher a boot to the jaw on top.

 

Ustinov has had to pull the trigger on his kickboxing instincts in a couple of fights... I believe it was Airich, but at one point he almost went for a clinch knee before remembering what combat sport he was competing in!

 

I've seen a pro boxing match with a kickboxer who got disqualifieed for low kicking his opponent multiple times.
I've seen Nieky Holzken fight and box a couple of times, and that won't happen. He's a natural boxer and knows what to do in a boxing ring.
He has a punchers chance, but Callum Smith is another level of opposition then that he has faced in a boxing ring. Holzken knows what is to fight in front of huge crowds.
