Last night fight convinced me Smith is another hype job no variety in his punching jezz the lad he was fighting was 36 years of age and very slow and smith was getting tagged quite easy..
Would like to see a domestic derby between Callum and Rocky Fielding before Callum steps up a further level .. Think Callum wins but wouldn't be a bad fight to have before progressing onto bigger things.
He looked British/euro level at best , at lot of work to be done but I can't see him hacking it at elite level.
Completely agree, showed in his first 14 fights he had very good power and last night showed his class as a boxer. Still has some things to work on but there is no fighter that has nothing to work on. Showed he has the power to hurt a very durable fighter and give it another 4 or 5 fights and he will be fighting for the world title.
The worst thing about his fight last night was the commentary banging on about he's now at world class level due to him beating Sjkolaca last night. He is never been world class, yes his record wasn't bad but apart from Bika & Abraham who beat him comfortably the fella hasn't fought anyone else who was half decent. Clever match making by Hearn as you'd expect as he is only a kid but I'm not buying into this hype about him. groves Degale level above him,
Seems quite stiff and predictable to me. Degale and groves would both outbox him Stop getting so carried away
He didn't look special, he looked distinctly average. Not great speed, movement was ponderous, power was average and defense was pretty leaky. He looked a good prospect but not special, Sjekloca is a good fighter and that was a good test but to say he looks special is going way too far. Groves beats him, even in his current slump and Degale wipes the floor with Callum. The upside potential for Callum vs Degale just isnt comparable. The difference in fundamentals, skill and rinq iq between the two is huge.
Not having that groves beats him, no way. Smith knocks him cold, was a decent but not spectacular performance for me.
