And if you ask me, not a very good business move either. The semi-finalist get paid very handsomely. Win bonus up top and he's a big favorite to make it to the final over Brähmer whichnets him even more.
Pretty sure he won't be compensated as nicely fighting Truax.

 

Callum Smith wouldn't fight Degale for a world title and pulled out of a world title fight against Dirrell. It wouldn't be a surprise.

Great news. He was the odds on favourite pre tournament for a reason.

He won his world title eliminator 3 years ago so it’s strange to still refer to him as a prospect but I’d say because he still hasn’t reached his potential he’s one of, if not the best U.K. prospect out there.

 

I really like George Groves (whom will beat Junior) but I think Callum Smith will win this tournament. He’s not got the best lateral movement, he tends to moves in straight lines but he’s so tall that he can step out of trouble and let a shot go. He’s got an excellent jab, long reach and is power is spiteful.

 

If he pulls out there will be penalties I'm sure in the contract- I wouldn't want to cross Kalle as well.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if he did pull out because his nothing but hype and Eddie doesn't have many so called stars left

 

It looks like callum is not pulling out however I couldn't blame him if he did. If your first priority is winning a World Title then surely you would pick Truax ahead of Groves/Eubank. Personally I think Callum will win the boxing series anyway but if the easier option comes along then you surely take it then have a big unification after.

 

The money and kudos that they (Smith, Eubank and Groves) could earn from this tournament is considerably more than a shut out win against Truax. Smith isn’t going to pull out of a tournament that he will win.

 

Imo breamer could easily beat smith

 

I’d agree he’d give him problems if it was at light heavy. However, I think going down in weight at his age and this stage of his career is a huge disadvantage. Smith will stop him in second half of the fight.

 

Groves Eubank is a toss up for me. I do think the winner of that beats Smith though

 

If it goes past 6 I’ll be shocked. Callum will blast him out of there. And I think he stops Groves in the final too.
