I see both fighters have expressed an interest in fighting each other with Bivol saying he would do 168ibs for the fight. Bivol has a win over Smith in the amateurs. If this fight happens at SMW what are peoples opinions ? I think it would be a classic.

Bivol is class mate, a real quality fighter. I don’t really get why he would consider giving up a few pounds of muscle mass to challenge an opponent who is huge at 168 though. I’d like to see this simmer for a year or two and then fought at 175 where we will see the best version of both, and maybe Smith could have a crack at becoming a two weight world champion.

I’m assuming Bivol’s struggling too get the opponents he wants or opponents who truly motivate him, Callum would be a solid test and honestly they would probably enter the ring at the same weight regardless if the fight took place at 168 or 175. Is favour Bivol at either weight he’s just a class above

Totally agreed with 20, both should focus for now on their current classes and unification. Smith has only just became a champ so deserves to defend it a bit and rake in some £. Bivol looks great, and both are still young, so if they can continue excelling this can be a huge fight down the line. Light heavy is pretty stacked though compared to super-middle.

It was Callum in response to Bivol who said he is not moving up to 175 "any time soon" and Bivol said he will fight him at either weight. Bivol outclasses Callum in almost every department except size however with his output and combinations I cannot see anything other than a Bivol UD. Plenty of good domestic fights at both weights for each fighter so this one should be left to build for a while.

From the limited amount I have seen of Bivol I agree. I think financially if its left to be built for LHW it could become a superfight to the masses though qualitywise it would be a superfight now and better than any match up currently possible in the SMW division. There has been a changing of the guard at SMW and its starting to happen at LHW as most of the divisions top fighters are old.
