Assuming (hoping) James Degale beat's Badou Jack it looks like this fight will happen in summer 2017. Who have you got winning, how and why?

Im torn as actually a big fan of both, can see Degale making him look stupid at times but got a feeling the little breaks he takes may see him punished and beaten I think Smith will look to pile it on in Degales rounds off and slow him to the body

Degale for me. Take his size away and Smith doesn't seem to be much more than a decent level fighter. Maybe I'm being harsh but I really haven't seen him look impressive for a while now. Blackledge shouldn't take 10 rounds to get rid of. Plus, the jump in class he'll have from what he has been in with to Degale is huge and I think that will be showing.

Degale in a relatively comfortable points decision. Smith will have his moment purely because Degale takes too much time off.

I don't believe Callum Smith has struggled to break down his last three opponents. He's used them almost like glorified sparring sessions. He could have sparked them out very quickly much like he did Fielding and Mohoumadi.

I think he beats Degale or Jack.

I do think Blackledge should have been pulled out a lot earlier, I think Smith had broken him down by 5, from then he was hanging on. I can see the point that Smith has been treading water a touch of late but that's understandable waiting for his shot, at least he has been in gym and kept busy.

Like I say I see it very close big fan of both and could probably make a very clear argument for either.

If it was Smith v Jack i'd back Smith to take him apart

Just depends on DeGale for me. If he does that thing where he fights for 6 rounds and then decides he cant be arsed I could see Smith taking it. If DeGale fights for 12 then he takes a UD.

Degale is p4p material, Smith is just not. Degale win, class dismissed.

DeGale is at world class level, Callum has a lot to learn, this fight is too soon for him. DeGale wide UD.

I agree with all your points accept when DeGale goes wondering for long breaks on the ropes I can see him getting badly hurt and broken down as unlike a washed up Bute I think Callum Smith will make him pay in those situations much more. His superior engine will be decisive, though I do see DeGale making him look silly at points and even outclassing Smith at points I still think he will get stopped late.

I got Degale by UD, Smith is good but I don't think he could cope with a world level boxer. 2017 is going to be a big year for Degale, can see him making the P4P list.

Not sure smith would beat Groves let alone DeGale.

There is no reason why Smith hasnt faced Groves imo that would be a very interesting fight

Id back Degale to beat Smith though but im not 100 sure he beats Jack

True, Degale has all the tools but...I just can't write off Badou Jack : he's got something going on...not sure if it's boxing skill but I'll call it momentum and if Degale doesn't want it enogh he could throw it away.

I think Smith not boxing Groves is a lot due to Groves not giving Smith a shot when he held the cards, now Smith holds the cards he doesn't need him.

I think people dismissed Jack because he got that KO loss but hes a very good boxer who is big at the weight a fantastic physique and seems to live the life. He has improved fight on fight for me and he is facing degale at the right time. If Degale takes rounds off like he does then Jack will take this.

Great fight between 2 fighters literally at their peak.
