Time will tell but not seen any of these improvements and matured physically quite early in the amateur game so not sure a late bloomer, was a real strong kid
Fart wristed bum boy claiming Degale is 'p4p material' hahaha are you having a laugh khan fanboystani. Degale struggled with porky ****ing medina a journeyman for crying out loud! And a totally shot cobra'd Bute, and Wicielski. Smith would destroy all three of those with total ease! And he'd give mr 'p4p material'(loool) another loss thats for sure.
Hes looked totally shite in most fights and could easily have 4 more losses on his record - Wicielski, past his best Dirrell, totally shot Bute, journeyman Medina. Hes lucky hes in probably the weakest division in boxing. The division is there for the taking, and I believe a young top fighter like Callum Smith.. has all the tools to dominate the division
Feel people are overestimating Degale here, in his last few fights he hasn't looked too great. Bute was past his best and he only just scrapped a win and then struggled with Medina too. Callum has his flaws but he's a massive super middleweight and has the power to punish Degale if he gets sloppy.
Definitely. Judging by the comments in this thread Degale is very overrated. I would fully expect Callum Smith to beat Degale if they meet.
Sky love the Smith family, they love the narrative. Callum is good, there's no doubt about that but I agree with you. What has he actually done in the ring to justify the hype? What's his best win? Mohoumadi? Say's it all...
Its the way he knocked out Muhoumadi in 1 round which was hugely impressive... he'd never been down and Degale went the full distance with him. Plus the equally very impressive first round KO of Fielding. Muhoumadi and Fielding are both European level and look at the way he got rid of them... I think these performances were very worthy of hype. Also he knocked out a load of guys in a row in first round Kos, I think it might have been a record.. Hes done everything asked of him so far..
Hardly a bad bunch.. Name a better family of 3 or more brothers in british boxing history. Callum is the best of the brothers but Stephen and Liam are world class fighters too.
Erm, no they aren't. Both were utterly outclassed in their last outings at world level. Didn't you watch them? Liam Smith is one of the weakest world champions ever, who did he even beat to "win" that WBO belt?
Well there's never really been as many brothers active at one time. Paul is domestic Liam's "world title" was a farce Stephen got absolutely starched by a kid 30 miles from his house Calum hasn't beaten a live body
Stephen smith is unlucky to be in tough division. He certainly didn't disgrace himself in those 2 fights .. the Sosa fight was a war and he proved he belonged at that level.. he certainly is a top 10 fighter in his division ,as is Liam who gave a good account of himself against one of the best fighters in the world.
