Benavidez beats him. Smith doesn't really know how to fight tall and make use of his physical advantages and DB will have no problem getting to Smith. So it will be fought at DB's range and become his type of gruelling fight and I don't think Smith can win a war of attrition.
I don't see anyone at 175 or below stopping Benavidez other than Bivol (by close decision) or maybe Beterbiev. Smith would be just a keep-busy fight for Benavidez until he gets the trilogy winner.

Smith is tough enough to make the fight last into the mid to late rounds, but will be worn down ans stopped eventually by DB.
I might have picked Smith a few years back, but Benavidez´s defense has improved greatly, and he is quite experienced now. Smith on the other hand is getting old, and has been inactive. And even tho arguably on paper he just scored the best win of his career, he did not look too good in the later rounds of that fight. Benavidez via decision in a decent and competitive fight.
Good fight, Smith performed excellently against Buatsi in his last fight but Benavidez is a different animal. Benavidez 10/11th round TKO.
